I recently switched from the Nike SQ DYMO-STR8 FIT to a Nike Victory Red STR8-FIT 9.5 degree loft. Both are great clubs, but i just felt like the DYMO hit the ball better. Other than the grips which should be replaced every couple years, the clubs should last a few hundred years with good care. Most of the new alloy/composite clubs will never rust so they should last a few thousand years. In practical terms, I play with a 20 year old set of Ping Zing clubs and they work as well today as when new. I also have clubs that are twice that old and still do the job. Edit: This answer would only be correct if one assumed the clubs were rarely played. Regular play will wear the club face over time, creating cupping of the irons in particular and reduced depth in the grooves, affecting spin. The best indicator of wear is to measure the depth of the grooves across the club and to measure the plane of the face of the club to detect cupping. As a reference - Tiger Woods replaces his wedges approximately 4 times per year and goes through 2 sets of irons in a single season (of course, he plays more, makes a living that way - and doesn't pay a cent to replace them).

The term "eagle" means scoring two under par (−2). Eagles usually occur when golfers hit the ball far enough to reach the green with fewer strokes than expected. I think the question refers to the odds of a player getting an eagle (2 under par) on two par 4's in the same round.

I had a similar question, which lead me to this site ... a colleague just informed me that her nephew scored 4 consecutive eagles during a round of golf en route to shooting a 64, and I was wondering what the odds were for THAT accomplishment.
