Google Gears is a plugin for browsers that give them the ability to run more complex web applications than they can run right now. Google essentially rules the internet, but it is trying to move onto the desktop. One major goal it is currently working towards is "Google Office," a free, online alternative to Microsoft Office. Gears gives existing browsers the ability to run these future apps. Chrome comes with Gears built in.

As far as im aware, yes. Even if you store your passwords and information on a site, when you revisit it and it tries to figure out who you are, and auto load those items, it cant. For example, pandora.com tries to track you and auto-signin when you log onto the site, but if your running incognito, it cant, even if your passwords and login are stored in chrome.

Next to the home button, there is an arrow which faces down, press down and there are a number of options (Advertise on facebook, account settings, privacy setting, log out) press on the log out option and you should be all set :)
