From what I understand, it is an execution program designed as a process...It is always running in the background to see that Google is always your default Home Page browser.

Currently, I do not consider it as being necessary. Perhaps for someone else it may be. If some application or person or virus or ? were to change your Home Page in your browser settings I'm sure Google would be at a loss.

I don't like the Google Toolbar Notifier because it disables the Norton AntiSpam option for Outlook Express. You can go into msconfig and disable, but it keeps re-enabling itself. It may even say that an Admin has to disable it and even after doing such it stills re-enables itself.

If it isn't interfering with any other applications then I suppose just leave it alone.

If it is a problem, then to disabled it properly try disabling it in your Internet Options folder. There should be a Tools icon on your browser: Tools>InternetOptions>Programs>Manage add-ons>GoogleToolbarNotifier>disable>ok...that should do it!

Hopefully, it will not enable itself again. Being that Google is making changes and there is no EULA agreement, Google should respect your PC and stay out.

Well, Google keeps reactivating itself despite being disabled. I clicked onto Internet exployer and found my homepage to be changed. Nobody knows how it got changed. Google may know, but their not saying anything.

Next attempt at removal is to go into the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Google Toolbar in Internet Exployer>Remove. That should do it. Time will tell. But remember now someone will be changing your Home page as I found out before I went into the Control Panel. Seeing the Home Page changed sent me into the Control Panel. Not sure who did it. It wasn't me. Could it have been Google saying I told you so?

I don't know why it's crashing in Firefox and Safari, but I'm having the same problem. However, if you check the FAQ you'll find Chrome isn't supported yet.

You can uninstall toolbar by uninstalling extensions. Extensions could be uninstalled from the MORE TOOLS in settings.
