How do you find a picture of your house?
I would suggest a realtor, city or county building permits, beaurau of land management. Depends on how old the house is and at what period you are looking for a photo of the house. Is the house relatively new and you want a photo from say 20 years ago or is the house really old and you want a picture from the late 1890's. You might start by calling those areas Iisted and try a good library. Hope this gets you on your way. You may wish to research the chain of ownership of your house at the county courthouse, and try contacting previous owners. Most people seem helpful and co-operative.

Why is Street View blurred in Google Earth when you go to a place 500 miles away?
The Street View "pegman" icon disappears from the Google Earth navigation controls when your zoomed out at an eye altitude of about 350-500 miles or more above ground level. The Street View mode only makes sense when you're "close" to the city or street-level. At the state or country zoom-level the Street View mode would have to show too many areas that are street-view capable so Google requires the user to be closer to the ground before Street View is allowed.
What are privacy concerns with Google Earth?
The privacy concerns of Google Earth revolve around the ability of anyone around the whole having instant access to high-resolution imagery including personal property, houses, cars, etc. Having such imagery and photographs in clear detail showing cars (color, make and models) and people opens up a hornet's nest of privacy issues.
If a person is photographed then they can opt-out, assuming they can find themselves in a given photo often months after it was taken. There is no good way to know if you've been photographed. Most common route is for people to check out their own homes in Street View and ask to further blur/remove these images if there is any objection.
People caught in comprising acts ranging from two lovers kissing in the park to others committing crimes have been captured for all to see in Google's Street View imagery.
Fortunately, Google has taken on itself the task of blurring faces and licenses plates from all photographs to protect personal privacy. In other words, Google does its due diligence to prevent the individual or the vehicle from being identified, but it's not foolproof and if the filtering and blurring techniques missed something then it's up to the individual to report back to Google.

You can "hyperlink" or bookmark locations or views from which you can return to with that exact view by creating a placemark and snapshot the current view onto that placemark.
When you're ready to capture the current view:

2. When "New Placemark" dialog comes up click "View" tab
then click "Snapshot current view"
Now you can save that place to your saved places or Email it to others.
Right-mouse click on the Placemark and select "Email".
Alternatively you can select "View in Google Maps" in the File menu.
From the web browser you can select the link button to copy the URL of that view and cut-paste that in an e-mail or whatever.

For a more advanced use of KML you can hyperlink and click from one placemark to another with hyperlinks in the descriptions of the placemarks that link to one another. This uses "feature-anchors" which can link to a placemark by it's id (not name).
See related link below for examples.

Also, Google themselves heavily photoshopped pictures of the Google Campus in California...adding things that are not there in "real life", including a massive swimming pool with the Google logo.
How do you view the ocean floor in Google Earth?
To clearly see the ocean floor in Google Earth first turn off the Water Surface layer from the View menu, which shows animating wave for effect.
Next expand the Ocean layer in the Layer panel in the Sidebar, which includes ocean and maritime related content (e.g. Explore the Ocean, National Geographic, Shipwrecks, etc.).
You also want to check '3D Buildings' layer since there are some 3D models at the bottom of the ocean like the HMS Titanic.
Navigating the ocean floors with mouse controls sometimes gets tricky. The keyboard short-cuts work well for "walking" the ocean floor (see links to key stroke controls in related links below).

Yes, there is an "ocean" option at the bottom right corner of the screen. Enable this option, then you can go underwater. You have to use the navigation button to make the angle such that you are seeing straight as in from the ground point of view. You can then see 3-D waves and also go underwater. This only works on Google Earth 5.0 or higher, so any other version won't work with this option!

In the new Google Maps there is an "earth" mode which shows satellite imagery and terrain which gives a 3-D like view of the earth. The Earth icon can be seen in the lower-left of the map if available.

This feature seems to be available anywhere in the world where Google currently offers Street View, but this is not currently available in the "new" Google Maps.
