The requirements for honors may differ from one institution to another. However, a 3.41 could fall within the Cum Laude category depending on the institution.

The minimum requirements to graduate from high school, is to have at least a 2.5 GPA. If you have any GPA lower than that, you will have to retake the classes to make up for it.

Make sure the college or university has a regional accreditation (most important). Practice navigating this site. It will be well worth the time and effort.

A 3.0 is needed for instate and out of state is 3.3 .However Minnesota is very picky on who they let in so it helps to be in clubs have higher GPA's than necessary, play a sport etc. ( This is without a scholarship.)

A few universities only calculate your grades from the last 60 units (upper division) whereas many schools (especially top notch) schools look at the overall, cumulative GPA in your undergrad study. From my understanding (at least with Colorado State University), you can explain your reasons to the Admissions Committee you do not meet the GPA requirements. There are always exceptions and waiverables so don't think your GMAT score is too low or your GPA is not enough. The digging and research is on your part and that is part of the fun.

Not really BUT you can't have a super low GPA either. I have heard of people who've had a reason why their GPA was low and really shined in their entrance interview and put 110% into their entrance project and essay too. So I say if you have a low GPA, don't let that scare you from applying because after all, you don't try, you'll never know.

When I submitted my transcript to UF my GPA was 4.0 (unweighted) and 4.25 (weighted). I scored 1410/2110 on the SAT (730 Math, 680 Reading, 700 Writing).

These aren't the best stats or the strongest courseload, but I think the 1 year of Dual Enrollment and the SAT score are what helped me the most.

The University of Minnesota bases admissions on a very careful, overall assessment of each student's academic preparation and performance. There is no specific grade requirement although the student's grade point average (gpa) is one of the primary factors considered for admission to the U of MN. The other primary factors considered for admission are coursework through high school graduation, class rank, and ACT/SAT scores. There are also several secondary factors which are also taken into consideration such as community service, leadership, rigorous academic curriculum, etc.

It is actually a very reliable measure of achievement but it fails to consider: * Outside interests and achievements in Clubs, student government, sports, community outreach activities, cultural interests, band, orchestra, dramatics, public service and the quality and nature of the courses studied. * It fails to measure the student's real world experience when they are required to support themselves to achieve an education. * Ergo: while it measures achievement, it does not measure IQ or the potential for success in the future.

I had a 2.1 High School GPA and got in to Youngstown State. It is a good school, with quality academics. It is in the middle of an economically depressed city of about 90,000 people. If you are going for a good education only, it is a great university.

We don't know, nor is Mr. Obama (or any other president) obligated to release his grades. We do know from his autobiography that he was, by his own admission, an indifferent student and did not get serious about his education immediately. But at some point during his time at Occidental, he decided to stop wasting the opportunity and he turned his academics around. He was able to transfer to Columbia and complete his undergraduate education.

this means a "C" average. For most high schools a 2.0 GPA is required for graduation. In terms of college I would suggest a community college, do well there, and then transfer to a 4 year university.

UCLA doesn't base admissions solely on GPA.

Variables

Sports require athletes to put in a lot of their time (after school, sometimes weekends). If a student's grades are not the best before they play a sport, then during the season, the student will have even less time to do homework or ask for help if they are struggling. Students who have better averages have a better chance of keeping their average up while playing sports because they understand what they are learning and complete their homework. Aka, if you don't have a lot of time to do homework and study now (and your grades are not the greatest) then you will be struggling more because sports take up a lot of time. I would know, I am a sophomore in high school and I play two sports. I don't have as much free time when I am in-season.

The average GPA required to get in to Seminole Community College is a 3.0 . SAT and ACT scores can help or hurt your chances of admittance.

That is an A average. I also have a 3.85 as of now.

At most schools that would be a B-. That is not an honors grade.
