Is a college 2.75 GPA bad?

No one will ever ask you what your GPA was after you've left college unless you're a lawyer or a doctor applying for law or medical school.

Not bad but could betterIt is not a terrible GPA. On the four point scale, that means your average grades are B's and C's, with more B's. If you stick with the idea that C's are average, then you would be somewhere between average to a bit above average.

Could be considered good...

It really depends. I don't know if HR departments understand that it does depend. For example, I went to a 2 year technical school and received a 4.0. Then I furthered my education to receive a 4yr degree I went to a university that was considered a "sister school" to a top ten nation ranked school. At the sister school I received a 3.4 I could have done better but I did not care all I needed to get into the the top ranked school was a 3.0. When I got in, I did the best I possibly could and only managed to get a 2.8.In that case I feel from first hand experience that the 2.8 is better than a 4.0 relative to the school. I don't know if the hiring departments care though. I think they would hire the 4.0 student over the 2.8 student because they are not educated enough to realize that it is not a linear comparison.

What is the grade point average for cum laude university of phoenix graduates?

There is no Latin distinction. There is only "with honors" which requires a 3.85 GPA which is only for the undergrad program.

I do not have any firm guidance, but believe the folks Graduating are marked with asterisks in their Commencement programs for the following:

3.50 to 3.74 - Cum Laude

3.75 to 3.84 - Magna Cum Laude

3.85 and above - Summa Cum Laude

What is the GPA required for admission to Stanford Law School?

Stanford has no minimum GPA requirement, but I read somewhere a 3.6 is the cut off. However, Stanford looks for academic vitality, so if you have a low GPA, focus on other aspects such as the LSAT and extracurriculars.

How do you calculate your major GPA?

Calculating a Grade Point Average

Academic average is determined by dividing the total number of quality points earned by the total number of credits taken, whether passed or failed. The following table is an illustration of this computation:

For example, each grade is assigned quality points. F=0, D=4, C=6, B=9, and A=12.

In addition, each grade is assigned a numberical value (aside form the qality points). F=0, D=1, C=2, B=3, A=4. If the institution has a plus system then (for example) B+=3.5, C+= 2.5 etc. Below is an example of one semesters GPA.

HIS 101. . . . 3 (credits) . . . . C(numerical value of 2) . . . . . . . .6 (quality points)

PSY 101 . . . 3 . . . . B(3) . . . . . . . .9

BIO 111 . . . 4 . . . . D(1) . . . . . . . .4

FRE 101 . . . 3 . . . . A(4) . . . . . . .12

ENG 101. . . 3 . . . B+(3.5) . . . .10.5

CIS 101. . . . 3 . . . . C (6) . . . . . . . 3

Total credits taken: 19

Total quality points earned 41.5

41.5 divided by 19 results is a 2.18 grade point average

The above was based on one semester. You can also calculate using the same procedure for the cumulative overall GPA.

What is the required GPA for admittance into DeVry?

I have been a student in devry for more than a year now and when I first got enrolled, there was no GPA range required for admittance into the school. In order to get enrolled you must interview with a devry university admissions advisor and complete an application for admissions. Also the student must be at least 17 years old on the first day of classes, have earned a high school diploma or equivalent and prior educational performance is considered in order to demonstrate proficiency in basic college level skills to be admissible. If you do not have this prior educational performance skills you can complete the basic skills evaluation and demonstrate specific basic skills proficiency levels in order to be granted unconditional admission.

You took 12 credit hours in the Fall and retook the same 12 credit hours in the Spring and you received all F for the fall and all A for the Spring What is your grade point average?

Your current Grade Point Average (GPA) would be 4.0 or an A letter grade. When you repeat the same course within the same college or university, only the higher grade is calculated into the GPA. The F grades you received in the Fall will never disappear from your transcript, as well as the Spring A grades, but the F grades - once again - will not be calculated in your GPA.

Should be. Unless they've changed the rules drastically since I attended, that would not only get you admitted, but MIGHT qualify you for a full-tuition scholarship.
