king quail babies are about as big as big as your thumbnail.

California quails nest in dead bushes in small holes covered by a nest wall. they are also located up against something very hidden. the eggs have dark brown speckles and are a little bigger than a quarter. quails breed and lay their eggs in April and early may but could lay eggs in early summer. if its not spring try and catch a young quail by putting food only the babies eat in a trap as bait.

mainly 1-5 but i have 2 males and 4 females. i had to get more because one male was pecking just one of the females and made her bleed. i advice you to get more than one female its better so he has other females to pick on not just one.

There are some scientific and high-tech ways to tell, but these aren't affordable for the small-time producer. The best way is still the old stand-by: put then in the incubator and then candle them OR you could crack one and see if there is a "bullseye" spot on the yoke. That would at least tell you that some of your quail eggs are probably fertile.
