Some hamsters can cost $20 and for a fancy cage (3 levels or so) they can be over $100!

The vet can cost $50 just to let them check your hamster out and medicine (the perscribed stuff) if they're sick can be $30 just for a little tube. My vet trip ended up over $70!

Toys, chew sticks, ect.: $2 - $15 or more.

The blue Mother f'er drink is a drink that will knock u on your azz if you drink just a few. It is very tasty and it is a creeper. Make sure you are with a few good friends if your out drinking this drink. It will leave you not remembering the evening after just 2 or 3 glasses!!! I know that from experience...lol!!

I've read several places people saying it is OK, but my vet told me no. Some hamsters have adverse reactions to cheese and become very ill. Others will get diarrhea from it. I've had a hamster with diarrhea and it was not a pretty sight. Also foods that are solid, but become mushy with body heat can be a large problem if the little guy decides he wants to stuff it in his pouch for later.

There are a ton of other treats you can give him to keep him happy though. Small chunks of apple, fresh basil, carrots, celery, non sugary cereals, grapes, green beans, pears, squash, and sweet potato are just a few ideas.

If the squirrel is too young you will not be able to determine its gender quite yet, but if it is old enough just look at its genitals and that will let you know the sex. It is highly unlikely a hamster would get his leg caught in any equipment designed for them. Also they would have to be stuck for awhile before resorting to chewing a leg off.

It really isn't a good idea to feed cats or dogs wet food all the time if you can help it. Hard food actually helps to remove plaque and such from their teeth. Feeding them wet food all of the time can cause dental problems.

Hamsters dont eat a lot of grain but there is some. There is some dried fruit grain and little nuts, mainly they will eat dried fruits or vegies. DO NOT over feed then or they can become Diabetic. But fresh fruit and vegetables will cause wet tail a potentially fatal form of diahhrrea. And if I were you a wouldn't give that to them.

It would probably be best to not use tissues for the bedding. You should put some tissue for your hamster to use to make a nest, but not really as a bedding. It is not absorbent enough if there is too few and the hamster may have trouble walking around in the cage if there is too much.
