Hamsters can swim. Almost all mammals can swim. However, hamsters do not like being wet, they can groom themselves and are capable of maintaining themselves. It is not advisable to give them a bath, because they can die if they have a cold. They're fragile animals. So be careful!!

Hamsters are pretty robust little creatures, and very few foods afect them, although the following can cause illness:

Cucumber [diarrea]


Chocolate and and anything with sugar [ sickness]


Unpipped fruits and vegetables [if you don't remove seeds or pips your hamster may choke]


Peanut butter [ although you can give it to your rodents, I advise you to mix it with water to stop it from sticking to the insides of your hamster's food pouches]


Safe treats:


Shreddies with a very thin layer of peanut butter spread


Cheerios


Seedless fruit and veg


yogurt drops


unshelled peanuts [your hamster will have a field day trying to get the shell off and it'll strengthen it's teeth]


leftover chicken, sausage or bacon [ hamsters are obnivores and surprisingly love meat! But give in small portions]

if the mother is dead the baby hamster needs to be introduced to a new mother that has babies of a similar age at the moment, but the mother will kill it if she thinks it isn't hers and to trick her into thinking its hers you must rub her used bedding all over the baby hamster and put it in with her litter.

Food and Feeding Method

Feed them with Lactol; a milk formula as a replacement for mother's milk. Milk is to be given every hour until they are 7-10 days old using an eyedropper. Do not squirt the milk but instead, let a drop of milk hover on the dropper and let the pup or lick it.

• First of all, you need to get a reasonable sized cage
• Next, make sure you have a food bowl, food, and a "water bottle" that can be hung or supported by the cage
• You need to have a hamster wheel so the hamster can get excersize
• Once you get your hamster, you need to play with it at least 10 minutes a day to keep it company
• Clean out your hamster cage after 1 or 2 weeks
• Hamsters like little would blocks, hamster balls, and empty toilet paper rolls to play around with.

It doesn't crank? Or it cranks, but doesn't fire? Start with the three most common reasons for a no start. 1) Crank- make sure the engine is turning over fast enough to start. 2) Spark- If the engine is cranking, make sure it is getting spark to the plugs. 3) Fuel- If the car has crank and spark, check that it is getting fuel. If you have crank, fuel, and spark and the car will still not start, you may have a computer problem. Your dealer/mechanic will be able to diagnose a computer problem. Good Luck!! If it just sounds like "wrrrrrrr" and not "red red red red red" then it's your starter. Those are easy to replace, but you will need some tools. It took me 4 hours to get the starter off, and about 1 hour to put it back on. Things the haynes manual wont tell you are 1. There is a black bracer bar directly under the starter, it connects in 3 places. You have to remove that bar before you can remove the starter. After you remove that, you have to remove the flywheel gasket bolts before you can remove the starter's bolts. The starter on a 98 has 3 bolts. There is something called a 'bender' bar that connects it to the engine I believe, that bolt is really hard to get to. You will need a swivel joint for your ratchet and a 12in extension. It helps to have a friend look through the top of the engine to help you guide the ratchet. It is also handy to have a ratchet that has a 'continuous drive handle' means you can turn the handle like a screwdriver and it will work as though you are doing a turning motion on a regular ratchet. A starter for the 98 will run you about $180 to $220 from PepBoys. If it doesnt make the "wrrrrr' sound then check your spark plugs.

When you leave your house for a long time and your hamster looks paralyzed when you return, it is very likely she is dead, especially if you left her without food or water.

Yes, but it will take a lot of time and effort on your part. Since hamsters are a minor pet species, you won't find a dedicated hamster milk replacer available commercially. You will need to provide some sort of milk replacer (possibly kitten or puppy milk replacer will work) as well as the socialization that the mother would normally provide. Hamsters cant eat all that much in a day. Make sure that the bowl is full with clean dry food every few days.

They are certainly not evil. I have a honey bear hamster and she is so lovable. Honey bears' are just a type of hamster and should be treated the same. You don't need any special treatment of any kind.

My exotic vet uses a wash cloth draped over the back of the hamster and then grabs through the cloth the scruff of the hamsters neck skin and lifts the hamster. My hamster won't let me do this well so I decided to squeeze the meds onto the tip of a plastic spoon and offer it that way. It worked perfectly as she immediately licked every bit of it off the spoon and still does to this day.

Cucumber has a very high water content and so would not be the most healthy vegetable you could give your hamster. It wouldn't cause the hamster any harm however and still is fine once in a while. yes, hamsters love cucumbers! they are very healthy for the hamster, and can eat many fruits and veggies. strawberries, carrots, oranges, apple, and many others are their favorites! My hamsters have been eating fruits since I got them, and it's a real treat when they do.
