You got your hamster 4 weeks ago and cleaned it out when it was half a sleep now its dead could this of caused it?

First, if you just got your hamster 4 weeks ago then it should be alert once you open its cage. Hamsters are very alert animals and can hear just about anything; even though they are tiny creatures. I'm sure you didn't do anything to harm him/her unless if he/she ingested something that you used to clean the cage out with. If you adopted it from someone, then it could have just passed away from old age.

How do hamsters die?

Most hamsters die from a disease called Wet tail. Some die of old age or if another hamster has treated it badly like sighs of blood or missing hair. Or if it has been dropped alot.
Well, they could die from many things. Some could be accidental. They may have been born with diabities or got it if you over feed them or gave them too much fruit. Hampsters age quicker then dogs. About 30 years per human year. Mostly you can only have a hampster 2-5 years. Hampsters get sick very easily, so if you're even around them when you're sick, even with only the common clod, then they could get so sick they die. It might even be by a misquito bite! Really, hampsters are delicate creatures that can die by the simpilist things, so be care ful and if you ever have a question, go to www.hamsterland.com!

Can your other hamster get sick and die from being depressed from your other hamster that had died?

It's possible, but most likely no. If your other hamster died, then play with it, and keep it happy and not lonely. Or you can clean out the cage, and then buy another hamster for her/him to play with. Then she will be happy, and the other one she would forget about. It's possible, but most likely no. Are there such thing as a hamster leash?

yes there is. it can be bought at some pet stores as well as online.

but i would not recommend it as it is useless and may cause harm to your hamsters.

By Estherbella

I have never seen a hamster leash before, but you can use a ferret leash.

They are the right size. When walking your hamster, I would not recommend walking it on blacktop, concrete, or any similar surface. These surfaces can hurt your hamster's little feet. I would recommend walking it on grass or sand instead.

Make sure you aren't gone for over 15-25 min. Keeping a hamster away from a water source for longer than that can cause dehydration.

How do you stop your hamster biting you?

To get your hamster to stop biting you try wash your hand with soap and water to get the smell of food off your hands then rub your hands in its bedding that it has in his/her cage and slowly reach towards your hamster if it looks like it wants to bite you pull away SLOWLY!!!! not fast it will scare it if that doesn't work, talk to it softly and hand feed it treats . after you do these your hamster should not bite you anymore
First always wash your hands so it won`t smell food on you. Then hold it as much as you can,the more you hold it the less it will bite.
