Why is a recently purchased Sharp Aquos showing analog as opposed to digital on the screen display when digital TV service is subscribed and the digital terminal is hooked up to the cableTV?

Did you connect the digital output from the box to the TV? Is the standard RF cable connected too? And did you run the digital tuner setup on your TV?

And finally, is your input selector set for the digital signal or analog signal input?

One of these should work, unless of course, you're not tuned into a digital feed from the cable company but are watching an analog signal being sent into your box. Not every channel's converted over yet and some signals are only still available in analog.

Maybe your cable company's converting the analog signal as well or possibly they haven't set up their digital feeds for a specific channel.

Will glass plus with jet dry ruin your dlp tv screen?

If your DLP projection TV is anything like my Samsung DLP than no. On mine the screen is a piece of plastic which from the front is flat and the back is designed to better project the image. I have used glass cleaners to clean mine and no problems yet. I would recommend that you spray the cleaner onto the cloth so it doesn't drip down the screen into the electrical components of the television.

Is Haier LED-LCD tv a good brand?

Haier is recognized as a low cost brand offering models without frills.

Don't expect a Haier to have the best image quality or features or long term reliability. However, if you are comfortable with the picture quality, the size, price and features suit what you want, there is no reason why you shouldn't choose one.

Post sales service has been criticized although this can be said of almost all manufacturers. Again, don't expect the same customer service as you would get after buying a premium brand.

How can one setup HD TV antenna?

There are two main types of HD TV antenna: indoor and outdoor. To use an indoor antenna, one simply connects it to the relevant port in the back of the tv, switches it on at the mains and then proceed to find the correct channel settings. An outdoor antenna is generally placed on the roof or high up and may require masonry drilling and electrical connection, so is best left to the professionals.

How do you connect 2 computer speakers with a sub-woofer to a flat screen TV?

Will an LCD be hurt by leaving it on for too long What is the longest a LCD should be left on consecutively?

Many are aware that if you leave a static image for a prolonged period on a plasma TV, you may risk phosphor burn-in. The result is that once you remove the static image, you would still be able to see a faint outline, or ghosting of the original image, even when you change the picture content. LCD TVs do not suffer from burn-in, yet surprising as it may seem, they still suffer from image retention when a static or semi-static image is left displayed on the screen for too long. The intensity of image retention depends on various factors, not just the duration the static image remains displayed on the screen. Issues such as image makeup, operating temperature, and the LCD panel brand itself, should also be factored in.

How to use picture in picture feature on my 97 RCA tv model f25674gy?

All picture in picture and split screen options require a dual tuner set up. If you are running off a cable box or satellite you will need to split the cable and feed it into the separate tuner connections in the back of the set, then the pip will work. Make sure the split is before the cable box or you will just be able to see a smaller version of what is already on the screen.

What the best size box for a 12 sony explode subwoofer?

Although enclosure building is not as simple as it may seem, it is by no means impossible. Sealed enclosures are the easiest to build, as the only thing affecting the box tuning is the internal air space. On a ported enclosure, the port diameter, length, and enclosure internal air space all affect box tuning. The best way to determine the best box size for YOUR subwoofers is to consult the data sheets / instructions which came with the sub, look up your subwoofer online, or contact the manufacture directly if unable to find the answer elsewhere.

Another VERY good resource is "The Car Stereo Cookbook", available at many book stores as well as online. Almost everyone in the audio industry has read and will recommend this book.

MOST 12" enclosures will range anywhere from 0.5 cu. ft. to 2.0 cu. ft. Research WILL provide an answer. Look for info on your subs MODEL number, not just the name.

Good luck, and happy box-building!!!

Can you watch 2 contents on 1 tv at the same time for example on the right side of the screen you will be browsing the internet with your PC and on the left side you will watch a show on cables?

Many televisions feature a "picture in picture" facility that allows an input to be previewed in a small window while watching another full screen source.

There are very few that allow a screen to be split in two as the aspect ratios of each image will be badly affected. There are some video processors that will provide a feature such as this but they tend to be very expensive and designed for a production studio rather than a home.

Nothing turns up, not even an official website. My experience has been with two of their products - failure. Avoid the trouble. If you can't find any info on the web, probably better to avoid the brand altogether.

Can you repair the old picture tube of a Philips TV or where can you get a new tube and how can you change the tube yourself?

Repair or Replace

As an experienced TV technician, chances are the replacement picture tube for your TV will cost more than the set did originally. They're getting scarce because there really aren't that many manufacturers making CRT's any longer and in most cases, a replacement CRT will be a rebuilt.

Yes, you could change one, but it's a dangerous operation and the voltages found in CRTs can be FATAL, even after the television has been turned off.

As far as repairing your old tube, it depends on what's wrong with it. Sometimes they can be rejuvinated, but this too requires either intimate electronics experience or the proper equipment. In most cases, that'll just buy you another 30 days to maybe as much as two years of useful service.

Doesn't always work either. Depends on the condition of the tube and the manufacturer.

Best advice: Go buy another TV. It is now likely to be far less expensive than repairing a CRT television.

How long have movies been shot in high definition?

Most movies are shot on film and not captured to video. Because of that, they have never suffered from the constraints of television resolutions. Typically, 35mm and 70mm film have an effective resolution that is higher than either SD or HD television.

When a movie is broadcast, it is converted to a video signal using a tele-cine unit (a film projector and television camera combined into a single device). The television resolution is defined by the camera in the tele-cine unit at the time it is captured to video.

so, film that has been shot before the days of HD television can still be broadcast as HD.
