Heaven and Hell

From the earliest civilizations mankind has questioned the concept of a God or higher power as creator. Many religions believe in the concept of a heaven and a hell as a place that souls go to reside after death. Endlessly fascinating and at times controversial, Heaven and Hell are a part of the human experience.

It depends what you consider to be "proof". However, proving the existence of "hell" by that same process tends to differ according to different doctrinal interpretations.

  • You won't born just like Humans instead generate spontaneously.
  • In Heaven you aintain an awareness of self: In the Buddhist Nirvana self is finally conquered and you have no independent existence
  • You gain entrance to Heaven by a combination of belief, good works or divine intervention: Buddhists gain Nirvna by enlightenment which they guide by themselves
  • Heaven is a reward for a good life: There is no deity to reward or condemn you
  • Belief in Jesus is NOT required for entrance into Heaven: Jesus is not a part of the Buddhist belief system.
  • You go to Heaven or Hell after one life.but small amount of people successfully reach their.

What is the Church of England's Doctrine on Hell 1995com?

The Church of England has revised it's opinion on hell. Annihilation is becoming a common topic in organized religions. Annihilation is the belief that at death the sinners/unsaved will be punished and then completely destroyed making them eventually non-existant. Unfortunately, this belief is not biblically sound. Jesus talked much more about hell than He did about heaven, making it very clear that hell is a literal place and those who inhabit it will endure torture for an eternity. New church doctrine claims that after judgement all sinners will be completely consumed and detroyed.

Whom is god prepared to send to hell?

Once you are born into the world and baptized, you are clean. God gives all a "free will" he can't make you be good or bad so if you do many bad things and go against his word, he might decide to send you to hell. But when you're born you have a clean plate God would never automatically send someone to hell.

Does your soul go to heaven or hell when you die or does it wait until god comes back for judgment day?

As learned from Holy Quran, soul remains in a intermediate state, until the life of human being comes to the end on Earth, then a new eternal era begins with day of judgement.

What is hell how is it What is heaven how is it?

Many Christians believe that Hell is the place where evil-doers and those who did not accept Jesus Christ will go at the end of time. Views on what it is like vary from it simply being a place without God to being a burning pit, where sinners are tormented for their evil deeds; it is also said to be the dwelling place of Satan, the father of lies. (It should be noted that not all Christians believe that non-Christians are condemned to hell, but some Christians do in fact believe this.)

Heaven is where Christians believe that those who have been good and led a life in accordance with God's teachings, will go to at the end of time. Some Christians believe only other Christians will go there. Some Christians believe that all people who led a good life will go there. Heaven is the kingdom of God, where God is one with everyone and they are one with God. Christians also believe that Jesus is there, sitting at the right hand of His Father.

It is impossible for us to know what Heaven and Hell are really like, but most Christians believe we just have to trust God to make the right choice, in his infinite wisdom, and hope that someone who willingly let his son die for us won't condemn all the good people in the world who aren't believers to Hell.

When Muslims die do they go to the Christian heaven?

The Bible teaches only Jesus went to heaven where He came from:

John 3:13New King James Version (NKJV)13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Furthermore, there are many places in Scripture which teach death being akin to sleep and at the end of the rule of man, we all will be called to an awakening to stand before Jesus Christ in the judgment process.

What religion believes in heaven and hell?

How many different levels of heaven are there?

There are as many levels to heaven as what you think there are. It is your choice to believe or not to believe.

Heaven is one place, there are no levels according to some views. But let us go to the Bible because it is the infallible Word of God.

1st heaven (earth): Look at Genesis, "Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waterswhich were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. God called the firmament HEAVEN . . . " (Genesis 1:7-8) Earth was the first level of heaven. Jeremiah says this, ""I beheld, and indeed there was no man, and all the birds of the HEAVENS had fled." (Jeremiah 4:25)

2nd Heaven (space): Look at Deuteronomy 10:14 tells us: "Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it." (Deuteronomy 10:14) This heaven is space where all the stars and galaxies were created.

3rd Heaven (Paradise): Look in Corinthians 12:2-4 "I know a man in Christ who fourteenyears ago - whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows - such a one was caught up to the THIRD HEAVEN.

"And I know such a man (speaking indirectly about himself) - whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows - how he was caught up into Paradise (where God is located, see Revelation 2:7) and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." (2Corinthians12:2-4)

B:

From Islamic perspective: Quran reveals that there is seven heavens. The lower heaven being adorned with lamps. Each higher heavenly level is greater than the prior one. Allah's Thrown is in the 7'th heaven.

The lower heaven is what we call outer space with it's stars and suns. The Quran teaches that each heaven has boundaries, so even space has boundaries. Some of the Jinn are waiting at the boundary between the first heaven and second heaven for News of what's to happen. Then they are repelled with fierce projectiles of fire (what we consider to be comets).

Different answer by Angela...... My deceased mother visited me in a dream to tell me that she wasn't with her mom in the after life. In my dream I became very angry and told her to call and let me talk to someone. She dialed the phone and handed it to me. A woman answered and asked her to speak to the supervisor. A man came on and said he was the manager. I asked him "Why hasn't my mother been reunited with her mother in heaven? This needs to be fixed immediately"! He said, "I'm very sorry but there is nothing I can do because there are different levels, 12 of them to be exact. There is no need to be upset, this happens to most people. It is determined by the lessons you learned on earth and the length of time you have been passed away. Even if someone has been deceased longer it doesn't necessarily mean they are on a higher level. They can be on a lower level than a person that just crossed over yesterday. For instance if the person that recently crossed lived a full life and learned what they were supposed to and the person that has been crossed over for a decade but went long before their time by committing suicide for example." I can't remember the rest verbatim since it's been over 10 years but he went onto explain that it was like grades in school but eventually everyone will end up on the same level. Many will say this is just a dream I am sure but I can assure you to me this was the most realistic dream I had ever had up until that point. I have had other visitations from my mom and my brother and I can tell the difference of when I just have a dream or if it is what I call a visitation they are more vivid then any other dream. I can remember a visitation dream I had from my grandmother at 4 years old and I still remember it like I had it yesterday.

Do monkeys go to hell?

Assuming that there is a Heaven and a Hell, which all believers do, the following answer is Theologically correct from the Christian point of view.

No, monkeys do not go to hell. The reason is that only humans have souls, and without souls monkeys can neither go to heaven nor hell.

The position of the Catholic Church is that even if people evolved millions of years ago, the faithful are to believe that Adam and Eve were the first to have souls.

There is a huge philosophical debate amongst Theologians about this because in the Bible, there are descriptions of animals that are found in Heaven, most notably in the book of Revelations. This has opened up a Theological "can of worms" so to speak, in that many faithful people have pets that they love dearly, and they are worried that their pets won't be in heaven with them. The correct Theological response to this question is that God will block certain memories from our minds when we are in Heaven, thus we will not miss our pets, nor will we miss any of our loved ones here on earth that do not make it into Heaven either. We will simply not know that the missing people ever existed.

If God is omnipresent then is God in hell?

The writer of Psalm 139 seemed to think so.

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. (Psalm 139:7, 8 KJV))

Additional Comments:

Yes but an understanding of the terms translated hell is in order. Both the Hebrew and Greek terms translated into English as hell simply mean the grave or pit - the common faith of all mankind. In this sense and the sense of Psalm 139 is that no matter where man is, so is God.

Counter View:

Jehovah's people do not believe that Jehovah is 'omnipresent'. The Bible teaches that Jehovah has a 'place of dwelling'; (which in human terms) is simply called, 'the heavens of the heavens'. (Even the term 'heaven'; 'place' & 'dwelling' are not really adequate to describe the realm where God exists.

Jehovah does not NEED to be 'everywhere' to know what's going on; Just as you don't need to be present in London in 2012 to see the Olympics. You can see them right from your 'place of dwelling', thru special means (cameras and TV screens.) Therefore you may still use the expression: "I saw the London games," without actually being 'present' at the games.

Secondly: God is NOT in Hell, because the Bible 'hell' is NOT a place or eternal torment. That is not a Bible teaching but has its origins in ancient non-Bible people. The Bible 'hell' is really only 'the common grave where all mankind goes upon death' anyway. And God is NOT 'present in death'. Jehovah is not 'alive' and 'dead' at the same time.

Thirdly: Jehovah God is NOT 'present in' Satan. But God can certainly 'see' (to use a human term) what Satan is up to.

Explanation: Jehovah God exists OUTSIDE the Universe, which he created from himself. God is not limited by needing 'light from the sun'. He is not limited by 'the speed of light'. God can travel faster than the speed of light (if he wishes, or IF that term 'travel' even applies to him.)

This is where 'the holy spirit' (no caps) comes in. The holy spirit is NOT a PERSON, but is a 'force' that eminates from Jehovah. By means of his 'force' he is able to see all things; notice all things; guide all things; create all things; and destroy that which he sees fit to destroy.

.

Catholic AnswerOf course God is omnipresent, and in that sense, He is most certainly everywhere. Someone condemned to hell is someone who has chosen something or someone other than God. God gives them what they want, which is eternity without Him, thus your question is misleading in that hell is not a place so much as a state - it is the state of living or "being in existence" deprived of the knowledge and comfort of God. He is still there in the sense that He is still holding you in existence, but you are completely deprived of His comfort. Hell, thus, is the absence of any consolation of God, thus: To say that God is in hell is to say that God is in existence without God, which is a logical fallacy, thus your question, as asked, makes no sense.
