Although the population has not been determined in Ukraine for Jewish residents before the Holocaust, there are some shocking numbers. It is estimated that nearly 900,000 Jews were killed in Ukraine.

In many towns and cities Jews in Europe were required by law to live in the ghetto. The main purpose of this was to keep them under supervision. When outside the ghetto they had to wear a yellow Star of David on their outermost clothing. In places where there was mob violence against Jews, the ghetto to some extent provided protection. When ghettos were dissolved from the late 1790s onwards, most Jews who could do so moved out. In many cases the boundaries of the ghettos hadn't been extended for centuries, and the places had become very crowded and had often become slums. When the Nazis reintroduced ghettos from 1939-41 onwards the aim was to keep the Jews under close supervision and to reduce the Jewish population by starvation and disease. They ghettos were also close to railway stations ...

Anne Frank went to three camps, the first was called Westerbork in the Netherlands, a transit camp (where they do preperations for the real camps); the second (and the main one) was called Auschwitz in Poland. That was the biggest death camp in Europe and she luckily survived there; the last one was called Bergen-Belsen in Germany. That's where she died of typhus, along with her sister.

Most of the immigrants happened to be Jews - but the eradication of Jews was NOT the cause of the war.

Hitler tended to talk about providence. He may have had some belief in the supernatural, but there's much more to being a Christian than that. He may have talked about Christianity in order to keep the Catholics on his side. There are some mis-guided Chrisitians that belive in persecuting the Jews because they were responsible for the execution of Jesus Christ. Confusing, yes.

World War 2 severely disrupted international transport.

Zyklon-B easily translated as Cyclone-B. it is not an amusement ride- it is a form of Cyanide and the (assault) model was made without the telltale gas warning odor- required by law in the pesticide model which would give a bad odor so the people would instinctively flee or turn off the valve if accidentally opened in , say a hardware store or shop. Cyclone B was Cyanide gas- the real thing and major Death Agent of the SS in the Concentration camps, Cyclone-A with safety features was a legitimate pesticide in much smaller concentrations.

The camps were built very quickly using disused building and the inmates' labour. The first permanent concentration camp, Dachau, was opened in March 1933 in an abandoned factory, less than two months after Hitler came to power. All the later camps were also built very quickly.

Because Hitler and the rest of the Nazis blamed the Jews for losing WW1.

Before they were sent to the extermination camps, many Jews were forced to live in ghettos. They have insufficient food and no medication and usually no photographic film, either. In the Lodz Ghetto, where the supremo collaborated (to some extent, anyway) they did take some photos. These were hidden when the ghetto was finally dissolved in 1944, but have recently been found.

Personally i think that in the second world war, every soldier of every nation were all doing the same thing!

The Schutzstaffel (SS) were good at being told what to do. The SS were basically Hitlers body guards and the elite squad of the Wehrmacht, similar to the British Royal Marines!
