Where can you get free health advice?
The only truly credible source for medical information is your own physician. Seeking medical advice online does not account for your own personal medical history, symptoms or medication you are taking. Therefore, the medical advice you find online might not directly apply to your own circumstances.
If you feel you must do online research into a certain medical condition or health concern, it's best to stick with reputable sources affiliated with hospitals or medical centers, government departments or research organizations to ensure accuracy of information. Information published by these online sources is often written by a medical professional. If the information is written by someone who is not a medical professional, it is usually reviewed by a medical professional prior to publication to guarantee correctness. Some examples of Web sites with information written or reviewed by medical staff include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health and University of Maryland Medical Center.
You should avoid looking at Web sites that publish information not written or reviewed by a certified medical professional. These include message boards where individuals might post questions asking about a medical ailment. Often these types of sites contain long pages of discussions with individuals who share their own personal medical experiences as advice. Reading these forums might lead to more confusion about medical conditions or provoke unnecessary fear or concern.
Remember that your physician should be your main source of medical advice. If you must go online, only visit Web sites managed by hospitals, medical centers or government health organizations such as research institutes.

According to this link delinquent debt has a limit of 3 yrs in Mississippi -- http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20040116b1.asp?print=onk
Be aware that the 3 year statute of limitations for debt collection doesn't apply to the state, or state entities. Therefore hospitals which are considered county hospitals are state entities and the statute of limitations never runs against them. These hospitals can seek to collect bills which are older than 3 years.
What do you call a lady in charge of a hospitals nursing staff?
a doctor or the matron
Nonsense!!! Doctors are never in charge of nurses in a hospital. Nurses and Doctors are two completely separate teams that run paralell to each other and also work with each other. Doctors enter the ward as visiting staff, there is always a ward manager in charge of a ward and he/she is a Band 7 registered nurse. In Most hospitals a nurse manager will manage all of the nurses within the hospital.
TV shows such as Holby and Casualty always show a doctor telling a nurse to go for their tea break etc and giving them rows. THis would never happen in real life and if a doctor attempted to do this to a nurse, there would be sparks flying!!
In the US, the Director of Nurses (or Chief Nursing Officer or similar designation) heads the Nursing Department. She is responsible for the overall functioning of the department and answers to the Chief Executive Officer (who may or may not be a doctor, but who is responsible for the entire hospital.) She does not answer to the Chief Medical Officer (who is responsible for the medical staff). Hospitals may variously have shift nursing supervisors (sometimes called house supervisors) who oversee the day to day running of units on a shift basis and coordinate between them, as well unit nursing supervisors (sometimes called clinical supervisors, used to be called head nurses), who frequently have 24 hour responsibility for their unit. Charge nurses take on some of the oversight functions on a shift basis in individual units (these used to be called assistant head nurses) doing things like patient assignments, phone calls, trouble shooting and generally supporting the bedside nurses. A nurse may be permanently a charge nurse, or the role may shift between team members on a daily or other basis. All of these people are RNs (Registered Nurse), some with advanced practice licenses and/or specialty certifications. Physicians are not in charge of nurses. Haven't been for at least the 35 years I've been in. Good thing, too. They really don't know a thing about nursing. Not even when we take breaks.
In a hospital setting how many cardiac monitors should one monitor tech be watching?
I am sitting here watching 5 screens, I have the potential of watching 80 patients yet I rarely watch over 40 patients. (today I have a comfortable 29).If the screens are well placed, I really dont think it is an issue of how many screen but how many patients and how sick are they. The rumor I hear in the tele tech world is 80 patients. I really don't think that I could watch 80 patience safely. This is a question that is very important to ask, and I see that the answer will have to evolve. This is a fairly young proffesion and needs to be evaluated and standardized.
