This isn't a simple question to answer. In CA agents are NOT allowed to tell you that you won't get coverage. It's up to the Insurance company underwriters.
Height and weight would also be a factor. What medications are being taken and their cost. It's not necessarily a question of what the Insurance Company thinks, but what does the medical field think?
When these types of questions come up - I look at the Insurance Company Underwriting Guide - BUT, it's confidential... What's really more meaningful is www.webmd.com and then you have an idea of what the disease is, how it progresses, what medications are available, etc.
The Insurance Companies aren't really interested in paying more for brand name Rx, then you are paying in premium.
For individuals who have been denied - there is always Mr. Mip. more info available at www.steveshorr.com/mr.mip.htm if you belong to an employer group - this question is meaningless - it's guaranteed issue.

Can flecainide cause high blood pressure?
I hope to have a proper answer to this question soon.
I was prescribed 100mg flecainide twice a day, everything seemed to be fine. After a month I noticed that I had gone into atrial fibrillation and since I knew the onset was very recent I took three 100mg flecainide as advised by my doctor. I went back to sleep and when I woke up my arrhythmia was gone but I felt a little unwell. I checked my BP and is was 190/105 which I found almost unbelievable and quite frightening. I did my best to stay calm and have a stress free day and it slowly fell but I noticed that my usual systolic pressure was a lot higher than usual 140 - 150 / 75 instead of my usual average of 125/75.
I have temporarily stopped taking the flecainide and my systolic BP has fallen by 10 - 15 in the last two days. I will be seeing my doctor soon and find out if there is anything different that needs to be done to avoid arrhythmia and high BP.

What is relation between hypoglycemia and hypertension?
I don't think there is a relationship between hypoglycemia and hypertension?
A wide variety of medications are used to treat high blood pressure. Amlodipine is in a class of medications called "calcium channel blockers". They work to lower blood pressure by allowing your blood vessels to relax and open up so that they are not as tight. They are called calcium channel blockers because they block calcium, something the muscles in your blood vessels need to contract.
Diuretics or "water pills" are also used to treat blood pressure. They lower blood pressure by getting rid of extra fluid so the heart doesn't have as much volume to move. Most people being treated for high blood pressure will be on more than one medication. It is perfectly OK to take your prescription diuretic that has been prescribed to you by your healthcare professional with your amlodipine.

Can high blood pressure be treated without medications?
It is possible to lower blood pressure by making lifestyle changes, such as diet, exercise, and stress reduction. I am an advocate for lifestyle changes before medication. Talk with your doctor and ask him/her what you can try before the medication. Your blood pressure may be dangerously high so medication is necessary.
By eating at least 2 cloves of garlic a day and avoiding onions, you can lower your blood pressure, but have it closely monitored by a doctor and do not go off your medication without advice from your doctor. If you have a weight problem I suggest losing some by simple natural methods by including in your diet the foods that make you lose weight and lower cholesterol. Doing lots of strenuous exercise is not advisable for weight-loss while you have high blood pressure.
