I'm not sure, but i think not b/c Motrin and aspirin are not to be taken simultaneously

one reason for this is Motrin makes aspirin less effective

No. Motrin does not contain aspirin. Motrin contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.

It is important to remember, though, that Motrin (ibuprofen) and aspirin are both in the same category of medication; they are both "NSAIDs," or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and therefore may not be suggested to be taken at the same time.

Can you mix antibiotics and painkillers?

This is really a question for your doctor. What is safe for one individual may not be for another. Usually antibiotics and painkillers in appropriate doses are fine. Still, only your doctor knows your personal medical history, and should be the one who gives you the appropriate advise. Although most people will give sincere advise, they can be sincerely wrong. Do not take chances when it comes to your personal health.

Can ibuprofen and acetaminophen be taken together safely?

Ibuprofen and Tylenol work on different mechanisms, these drugs can be LETHAL if you take an overdose. Many teenagers have died after swallowing a bottle of Tylenol.

Ibuprofen can cause intestinal bleeding and ulcers.

Tylenol can cause liver failure or even death!

You can safely take Tylenol and Ibuprofen together as they are totally different drugs the combination of drugs controls high fevers, aches and pains, and several other conditions. However as with any drug you should speak with your doctor/pharmacist before taking anything new.

Ibuprofen is considered a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug meaning it blocks pain and reduces inflammation.

Tylenol is an analgesic (pain reliever) which is used for pain relief and fever reduction.

These drugs can cause serious side effects, so make sure you read the label, and the prescribing information before you take the drugs. If in doubt speak with your pharmacist who is very knowledgeable in this area and will advise you of the correct dosage, and the contraindications of the two drugs combined.

How long does it take for Saint John's Worts to start working?

St John's wort can take time to show results. Give it four to six weeks before deciding if it is or is not working for you.

Keep in mind that the quality of the product and the dose are important. I've had clients tell me that they had taken an herb and had no results, then take a better quality product (but same herb) and get the results they needed and wanted. There are a lot of junk herbal products out there.

Can you take Advil with Ciproflaxin?

Although I am not a doctor and I believe you should ask your doctor in your individual case, according to my Epocrates http://www.epocrates.com/ iPhone app those drugs are contraindicated. Apparently something in the way the interact 'may' cause a seizure in those with a family or personal history of seizures. I am on Cipro right now myself for bladder issue but also suffering from leg cramps and sciatica so I kept plugging in pain relievers till I found one that doesn't have any major contraindications and found Tylenol a fit for me. Depending on where your pain is you can also use topical creams like IcyHot, Tiger Balm etc. Again though check with your doctor as well because I don't have any clue of your allergies or previous medical history or other medications. Again I am not a doctor just someone with physical pain in an 'allied' field - so please check with your doctor before doing anything!!! Good Luck!!!

Can you give ibuprofen swollen?

Ibuprofen is classified as a NSAID, which stands for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (e.g. of steroidal anti-inflammatory drug would be something like Prednisone). Like all NSAIDs, ibuprofen has been observed to affect us in three major ways: analgesic (pain releiver), anti-inflammatory (reduces swelling), and anti-pyretic (reduces fevers).

Your glands (aka Lymph Nodes) are an integral part of your immune system, and they swell as a response to attack. Ibuprofen may potentially reduce the swelling in the glands, but swollen glands are usually an indication that your immune system is pretty pissed off about something, so NSAIDs may be somewhat ineffective when compared to antibiotics (if bacterial infection is the cause) or other stronger anti-inflammatory medications that your doctor can tell you all about.

Swollen glands typically mean you are sick with something, and therefore require some level of attention. They can be indicative of relatively mild conditions like colds, flus, strept, mono, etc., but are also a major sign of some much more serious conditions, namely the 'C-word'. If you've been spooning with NyQuil and a box of tissues for the last few days, then the former is probably the cause of the swelling. If you feel relatively healthy, however, it might be worth checking with an MD (don't freak out though, I had one surgically removed when I was younger for this reason. Lab results determined that a house cat scratched me on the arm like 6 months earlier). Also, as with anything, if a week's time yields no improvement, go get help.

Can you take diamox and ibuprofen together?

I looked at the site drugs.com - it has a drug interaction checker. I had the same question since my teen will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (almost 20,000 ft) and has been prescribed diamox to prevent or reduce altitude sickness. Anyway, it reports no interaction. Perhaps you should also ask a pharmacist.

What does the drug atenolol do?

Not quite sure. but from reading the MSDS material safety data sheet

http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:vuPEdjno1UoJ:www.sciencelab.com/xMSDS-Atenolol-9922980+msds+Atenolol&hl=en&ct=clnk&CD=1&gl=us

I can tell you this do not INGEST it.

---------------------

Atenolol (AKA Tenormin) is a beta-blocker and commonly used as a anti-hypertensive medication. Beta-blockers act against the beta andrenergic site of cardiac and smooth muscle (specifically the lungs). It essentially slows down heart rate and vasodialates the lungs, which helps to lower blood pressure. It's most common form is pills, so yes you will need to ingest it.
