Will icing sugar and margarine make butter cream?
This is the recipe for simple butter cream Icing but you can use Margarine instead of butter. It is fantastic.
The Recipe comes from C&H. This was the first recipe I used as a child when I iced my first cake. I like to double the recipe. If you are planning on using the recipe to do some extra decorating double it. If not, the recipe will ice a 2 layer 8" round cake or a 1/4 sheet cake.
How do you make white icing turn black?
First, make a basic white frosting or a chocolate frosting. Then, to get a true black, you will need to buy black food coloring. This can often be found at arts and crafts stores that have a cake decorating section, but not often in the average grocery store. I have seen it as a paste food coloring. Using the standard liquid food colorings - red, blue, green, yellow - you can produce a dark color, but not a black.
Try mixing blue and red to make purple. Then add more red to pink it up, and then just experiment to get the color you want. Use white to lighten up as you like it.

HAYYYYYYYY
It's a very good question...I just googled it. Cream cheese frosting is amazing (quite popular on carrot cake). Other sites I have found say it's ok to freeze just make sure it is sealed well so it doesn't take on other flavours from other items in your freezer.
Confectionery ( chocolate and sweets etc ) are bad for us because of there sugar levels . They are only bad for us if we have too many . If you do you can get dental problems and also after a long period of time it could also give you high blood pressure. As well as giving children sugar rushes ( hyper active moments ) this is a negative thing because the child will have a massive energy crash afterwards and it is not healthy . Also they are also expensive so it is becoming more of a treat to have chocolate etc . Not only this , but it can also make life torture for Africa's poorer children . This is because a lot of chocolate is produced but it is done so by children 5+ to climb trees with long , sharp knives to cut down the cocoa beans . A lot of the time they work long hours out in the scorching sun and only getting 7 hours sleep . This is of course the making of chocolate that is not fair trade . Sweets are also bad because they addictive along with chocolate because it is so good sometimes , you will buy it again . This is helping to cause more overweight / obese people because of it's addiction . Not only this , they have made lactosentalorent chocolate for those with dairy allergies .

How far in advance can you make the frosting?
If you put it on right after you get it out of the oven, it will flop over and go all over the cake, so it's best to wait right before you serve it to put the whipped cream on. or wait till you cut it, then put the cream on, and then you can easily add more if necessary.

How do you make butter cream icing with caster sugar?
Yes, you can. I use it instead of icing sugar (powdered sugar/confectioners sugar) because I think it tastes MUCH more delicous and less sweet and rich. But if you are going to use for whatever reason instead of icing sugar, I would recommend beating for much longer than you would with powdered sugar.
Though, please do not get confused with caster sugar and granulated. In America they use granulated sugar in baking, and I think (I may be wrong) they call caster sugar super fine sugar.
Also, you will get a better result if your caster sugar is newish. If not it can get gritty and become more-a-less like granulated. If so, put it into a sieve (sifter) and rub your fingers or spoon against it, this will get rid of chunks.
So, yes you can :D
What colors combine to make black frosting?
Black frosting is quite difficult t make from the tiny bottles of food colouring you buy in the grocery store. It is simpler to go to a good craft store (with a cake decorating section) or ant other place you can buy cake decorating materials. My local bulk food store carries these things. You can get a container of black paste food colouring witch works very well for a deep saturated black colour. it will taste a bit funny, but it will not hurt you.

Commercial cake frostings are usually buttercream and thickened with confectioner's sugar (powdered) or thickened with a little gelatin (it's what makes marshmallows spongy). If the frosting has any water in it, heat it (to evaporate the moisture) just until it is at a simmer and stir until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. Allow to cool and it will "set." If it's a buttercream frosting, add more confectioners sugar, slowly, while whipping in a mixer until it's the right consistency. If you do have instant, unflavored gelatin, mix a little with some hot water and add to your icing while whipping, then cool to set. I hope that helps you!
