How to replace headlight bulb infiniti 1997 j30?
It's actually pretty easy (I just did it). The bulb assembly is a twist fit into the housing. You can either disconnect the cable before or after removing the bulb from the housing - which ever is easier.
Twist the bulb an eighth of a turn, counter clockwise, which will release the flanges. Pull the bulb out and replace with a new one. Be careful not to touch the actual glass part, as finger oils can decrease the life of the bulb.
Reconnect the electrical cable.
The generic bulb number is 9005 (HB3) for the low beam (the outside lamp) and 9006 (HB4) for the high beam (inside lamp).
9005 is a high beam (inside) and 9006 is a low beam (outside).

There is no plug wires on a J30, you just unbolt the coil pack that's on top of the spark plugs and then change your plugs, after your finnished changeing the plugs you just reinstall all the coil packs on top of the spark plugs, but becarefull you don't break any of your coil packs, they will cost you.

I had a problem with mine and after checking all the fuses I found it to be in the dimmer switch ( on left side of dash ). It's pretty common with the J30's. Sometime you can tap the switch with the palm of your hand and it will connect.

Twist the bulb housing counter clockwise until you can pull it out. Remove the bulb. Take the replacement bulb out of it's packaging WITHOUT TOUCHING IT WITH YOUR FINGERS. Oils from your fingers will damage the unit. Replace by inserting the bulb and housing and twist clockwise.
