Why doesn't my Intel Pentium II computer support a 60 GB hard drive?

All chipsets used with the Pentium II support up to at least 127 GB hard drives. You probably either have LBA support disable in your BIOS,or your BIOS is buggy and needs to be updated.

Do Intel CPU processors have a better cost to performance ratio?

Intel CPU processors have a very stable price, they don't differ a lot from the CPU processors of AMD but AMD has more discount offers on it's CPU processors which in some occassions give them a better cost to performance ratio. In other words, buying an AMD processor with a good discount might just beat the Intel CPU processor cost to performance ratio.

What is 1.66GHZ Atom N280 processor?

a slow processor that is the size of a penny commonly found in laptops or netbooks

What is the the best cooler for a processor?

Best is a subjective question that requires personal opinion to answer. There are a few empirical answers to it however it all depends on the processor being cooled. An Ivy Bridge processor has an extremely small die area, and those will not be as effectively cooled as one of the large "sandy Bridge" era CPUs. AMD processors likewise use a larger lithogrpahy that is more effectively cooled with large heatpipe coolers.

For cost efficiency and low idle temperatures a heatpipe Direct touch cooler with aluminum fins will generally be the most cost effective. Originally designed as a "Xigmatek HDT" tower, it has been rebadged as an OCZ vendetta, Coolermaster Hyper 212 and a number of other heatsinks over the last decade.

For larger high TDP processors the answer is still basically the same, except a much larger size (3 to 4 times the fin surface area) and more heatpipes, combine with additional fans. As the Thermaltake Frio, Noctua DH-14 and the Phanteks PH-TC14PE are among some of the highest rated large sized tower coolers.

Lastly on the serious end of "air cooling" is what is termed "water cooling."

Water cooling is a misleading term as modern heatpipe coolers also use water to move heat from teh CPU surface to shed it at large metal fins.

Modern water cooling, uses standard water to transfer heat from a CPU block to a large radiator that can be setup somewhere else, either in the case or externally. The primary benefit to this is large amounts of heat can be moved efficiently. This does not lead to significantly lower temperatures over a high end "tower cooler" but can reduce overall case temperatures, and more importantly can equal the performance of the best tower coolers at far lower noise levels.

Which group of Intel processors use a 32-bit word size and a 64-bit word size?

Intel Pentium processors have a 32-bit word, whereas Core 2 and later processors have a 64-bit word. Prior to the Core 2, Intel manufactured some high-end Xeon processors for the server and workstation market that also had a 64-bit word length.

Complicating the picture a bit, for many modern microprocessors, is the presence of special long-word-length registers and operations to support multimedia processing (among other compute-intensive operations). For example, SSE2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions-2) support in current microprocessors from Intel and AMD incorporates a number of 128-bit registers and instructions, significantly increasing the computing power of these processors.

*The processors that use and/or have used both a 32-bit word size and a 64-bit word size are the Celeron, and Xeon, and they are considered to be in the Pentium class.

Xeons currently do not make the processors with both anymore, so the more current Xeons are not considered Pentiums, but older ones are.

How do you overclock Intel gma 4500mhd?

4500mhd is found only on notebooks. There is currently no way to overclock this chip, unless your notebook has BIOS that enables it. You can look, but I guarantee you won't find one in the market.

There is a program called GMABooster that overclocks Intel graphics. It is very sadly only limited to Intel 945.

Your only solution is to restrict your games to run at 640x480 rez. another option to improve fps from your card is to download a modified driver i am curently running royal bna driver for intel gma 4500 and i am now able to run war thunder on low settings but it is an integrated card that will never be amazing. but i guarantee an improvement after using this driver

What are the disadvantages of single-core processor?

not as good as dual core processor, its slower and sh*t

Edit for more detail: imagine this; you are working on a school project. alone. while your friend john is working with his brother. you are doing the same topic, and have the same due date. 3 weeks later, your stressed out because you still have quite a bit of work to do, while john and brother are on vacation in Florida, or something. buuutttt, john has a cousin who has the same project to do with the same due date, but 1 1/2 weeks earlier than john finished, his cousin was done. and imagine johns cousin has a brother who has THE SAME PROJECT DUE but he has 6 friends, and so on so on. once you start to get into 12 + core territory, its pretty overkill and will just slow down the whole processor in trade for more things at once. because the more the merrier, but too many chefs spoil the soup.

Will gta 4 run on Intel you core i3?

Yes,but in low settings,if you want better settings you need a core2 quad q8400 or better. For maximum settings you need a core i7 and a gtx 260 or Ati 4870 graphic card, plus 4 gb of ram.

Frankly, most modern games are GPU (graphics-card) bound more than CPU-bound. A Core i3 will easily run GTA 4 in all but the highest resolutions (1900x1200 or higher) provided it has a good graphics card - generally at least an nVidia GTX 460 or Radeon 6850. You will need sufficient RAM (2GB minimum if you run nothing else).

The sad fact of the current state-of-the-art games is that they are poorly designed (from a software standpoint). Very few scale well with added cores (most barely use two cores well), and are notoriously poorly multi-threaded. Very, very few games really can make use of a Quad-core system - in fact, most games which "recommend" a quad-core system do so not for the game, but so that the game can have two cores to itself, and the additional cores run system or other apps. Now that most GPUs include physics modeling support, the vast majority of work in a modern PC game is done on the GPU, with the CPU generally being much less loaded (often, doing "housekeeping" functions and audio, and little else).

Will a dual-core processor work with an Intel 865G motherboard?

No. The Intel 865 chipset doesn't support dual-core processors.

What is the definition of an ATM processor?

Why do all the laptops have Intel inside sticker on?

Most computers that use Intel processors have an Intel sticker on them to advertise this fact. And Intel processors are generally faster, cooler, and more power-efficient than mobile AMD processors.

What is the tri state device in microprocessor 8085?

A tri state (bus driver) device is a device that can be active low, active high, or floating. The use of a tri state device is that several of them can be connected to a single bus line and, so long as only one of them is non-floating, the bus line can be driven by multiple senders. The data bus is most often implemented with tri state drivers.

What are Intel and amd chips?

Intel and AMD chips are for computers to amke them better, so think of it like a boost to the computer, so it can prosseses things faster

What are the pros and cons of AMD vs Intel for a network with 75 computers?

That depends on what family of PROCESSOR you are going to use to construct the NETWORK .... It does not matter whether U have a network of 75 computers or 10 computers .... All that matters is What type of a Procssor and with what SPEED (GHz) machine is and What CACHE Memory that processor has along with the support for RAM. Bigger the CACHE memory and GHz speed of CPU the BETTER is the Machine .... AMDs have made significant changes in recent years and are used for top notch servers ... there have been lot of discussion on the net, as AMDs seems to make noise, but recently they have made great changes to reduce that and works fine. Look for 64 Bit Processors .... INTELs Xeon 64 Bits are also very powerful ... I can not tell you exactly the pros and cons of AMDs vs INTELs which you can easily find on GOOGLE ... All I want to say is IT ALL DEPENDS on Your USE of that 75 Computers ! 10 INTELs can beat 75 AMDs and vice versa ....
