What is a scientific name for diatoms?

The scientific name of Diatom is Bacillariophyceae. Diatoms are unicellular algae that appears as colony shaped like filaments or ribbons, fans, zigzags, or stars.

A smaller group of invertebrates that shares characteristics?

Snails and slugs are a smaller group of invertebrates known as gastropods. They have a soft body, usually protected by a shell, and move by producing mucus to glide along surfaces. The majority of gastropods are marine, but some are also found in freshwater and terrestrial habitats.

Is a diatom a vascular plant?

No, diatoms are not vascular plants. Diatoms are a type of single-celled algae that possess a cell wall made of silica, while vascular plants are higher plants that have specialized tissues to transport water, nutrients, and produce seeds for reproduction.

What does a tree hopper do to the enviroment?

Tree hoppers play a role in the ecosystem by feeding on plant sap and helping to regulate plant populations. They can also serve as a food source for other animals, helping to maintain biodiversity. However, in large numbers, tree hoppers can damage plants by sucking out too much sap, which can weaken or kill the plant.

Where do diatoms bloom?

Diatoms are a major group of eukaryotic algae, and are one of the most common types of phytoplankton. Diatoms occur in virtually every environment that contains water. This includes not only oceans, seas, lakes and streams, but also soil.

Diatoms slime molds and green algae are what?

Diatoms, slime molds, and green algae are types of protists. Protists are a diverse group of eukaryotic organisms that are not plants, animals, or fungi. They can be found in various habitats, from freshwater to marine environments.

The most successful of the invertebrates phyla with respect to the numbers of species is?

The most successful invertebrate phylum in terms of species diversity is Arthropoda, which includes insects, spiders, crustaceans, and other related groups. Arthropods make up the majority of known animal species, with over a million described species and estimated to make up around 80% of all animal species. Their success is attributed to their diverse body plans, ability to adapt to different environments, and evolutionary innovations.

Where do you buy diatom dust xr?

you could try twenga, they seem to have alot of great deals on at the minute and have a wide stock of produce so you should give it a go?

-- previous poster, perhaps an employee of twenga? Diatom Dust XR is merely a trade name. I just bought some from Tallman Scientific, is bulk freshwater diatomaceous earth repackaged in a ziploc bag and taped up with clear tape and a home-printed label. But I presume it is actual diatomaceous earth, which is also available, in similar repackaged form, in many places on the Internet, though not, apparently, anywhere in New York City retail stores. They make it sound so flashy, and if you get it from them the "bed bug barrier tape" is simply double-sided duck tape. I tried putting diatom dust xr on top of it, which they don't talk about, but we'll see how I fare. I think, touch wood, that I'm winning the battle so far.

Good luck

How do bacteria in the sea help nourish diatoms?

It is the other way around. Consider that when any one cubic meter of Ocean bottom is obtained [to be sampled] - in any Ocean and at any depth - one cubic meter of Bacteria is obtained.

Photosynthetic organisms such as blue-green algae, diatoms and phytoplankton need primarily - aside from a few minerals - CO2 and (En) Sunlight; both mostly available at the Ocean's surface.
