It works fine, I can use my map feature and install apps from iTunes/App store. I downloaded WhatsApp and can text family in the states as long as there is 3G and/or WiFi.

It depends on who you are. If you read some of the magazines that came out you would know that it can crash easily if you have a lot of applications on it. Unless there has been a recent update I wouldn't get an iPhone I would just get a touch screen phone or an Android phone from Google.
