What do the heads torque on 02 jeep liberty sport 3.7?

These must be tightened in order. Assuming that you know which order, the procedure is as follows:

Step one: M10 bolts (the larger bolts) torque to 20 ft-lbs (Do this step twice)

Step 2: M8 bolts (the 3 smaller bolts at the front that go around the chain provision) Torque to 120 in-lbs

Step 3: M10 bolts turn an additional 90 degrees (again do this step twice)

Step4: M8 bolts torque to 19 ft-lbs

I cannot express the importance of the tightening sequence enough. I wish I could provide a diagram, but the order seems to start in the middle and go in a cross pattern to the ends.

What will happen if the engine fan does not work on a 2002 Jeep Liberty?

If you do not get the engine fan fixed, you will suffer overheating problems. In the summer, should you take it on long drives, the Jeep will overheat, most likely causing gasket damage to either the valve cover gasket, head gasket, or oil pan gasket. It can also damage the hoses, the connection for the hoses, the thermostat gasket, the thermostat; And that's just for the cooling system. If you allow your vehicle to overheat, you can cause severe internal damage, the worst of which would cause you to have to buy a new engine.

How do you remove oil filler cap jeep liberty 3.6?

FilLer cap or filTer cap? And what year?

FilLer cap just turn it counter clockwise. If cap is extra tight or stuck use a large adjustable wrench ( crescent wrench) or slip joint off set pliers ( channel locks) that will grip as much of handle on cap as possible, short jaws may break it. Hold wrench close to jaws and gently turn counter clockwise. It's a good idea to wrap a few layers of cloth or several layers of tape around tab as a cushion.

If cap has knurled finger grip rim instead of tab handle you'll need a pipe wrench or large channel locks, padding again and gentle force, don't squueeze pliers too tight. Sometimes all you need is a rag to pad hand to get tight cover off.

FilTer is easiest with a 24mm socket and extension. On top center front of "engine cover" is an access hole. Most years the access cover is removed by a short counter clockwise turn. I have heard but do know for sure, that some models have a flip up access cover. With access hole open you can reach cap with socket.

I am not personally familiar with 3.6 in Jeep, only in Chrysler so details such as access cover type and filler cap style may be different. But I wouldn't think so.

If you don't have an extension or socket you can remove entire engine cover, and use box end wrench. Engine cover snaps off. Below is a link to you tube, showing how. Also link to online owner's manual, which may help.

Bonus info:

You should get a good quality ratchet handle and medium quality socket set for routine maintenance anyway. Replace sockets as they wear out with quality ones. If you do much driving in the boonies or mare than routine maintenence get quality sickets to begin with. But it's not so cool to ruin a socket getting oil drain plug out and no way to tighten it back, so get best sockets you can afford.

Can you tow Jeep liberty automatic 2 wheels down?

refer to your owner's manual for correct towing procedure but I would say Yes you can tow a 2 wheel drive vehicle no problem with the wheels down, Put the trannsmission in nutural and unlock the steering.

The reason you should check with the dealership with all vehicles ---especaily 4wd is the oilpump which lubricates the bearings in the transmission is often driven off the engine and with the engine not running and pumping oil --- the bearings would dry out and fail on you leaving a costly repair bill.

The proper way to pull a 4wd vehicle is put the tansmission in park and place the 4wd transfer case in nutural ---the 4wd transfer case pumps oil from the driveshaft and the transmission doesent so a 4wd with the transmission in nutural and the transfercase in gear would destroy the bearings.

How does it cost to replace a transfer case in a jeep liberty?

it cost around 700 to have one rebuilt that included about 300 in labor. found some on-line between 450.00-900.00 that was rebuilt or used with between 40000-100000 miles on them installed myself so dont know labor cost for installation

How much will it cost to put in a sunroof on a jeep liberty?

dont do it , aftermarket roofs will only make selling your car harder.
