How did the society of jesus combat the influence of protestantism?

The Jesuits infiltrated influential classes of society to lead people back to Roman Catholicism. It was said ( Angelo Nicolini ) they were "despotic in Spain, constitutional in England, republican in Paraguay, bigot in Rome, idolater in India".

Loyola's plan of operation was to have his emissaries enter new fields in a humble way as workers of charity, and then begin to educate the children and youth. After gaining the good will of the higher classes of society, they would, through their influence, secure positions as confessors to the royal families, and advisers of civil rulers. These Jesuit Fathers had been skilfully trained to take every advantage of such positions to influence civil rulers and direct them in the interest of the Roman church, and to instill in them, that it was their sacred duty to act as worthy sons of the Church by purging their country from heresy. And when war against "heretics" commenced, the Jesuits would not consent to any truce till Protestantism was completely wiped out. A M Renwick - The story of the Church p 149.

"……..within a short time after the foundation of the order, the Jesuits were acting as spiritual directors at the courts of Europe, as preachers in the most remote primeval forests, as political conspirators, disguised and in constant danger of death; thus they had a thousand opportunities to employ their talents, their cleverness, their knowledge of the world, and even their cunning"-"The Power and Secret of the Jesuits," Rene Fulop-Miller p. 26.

Another area where the Jesuits sought to compete against the Protestant states early was in the securing of lucrative trade routes. Thanks to Pope Gregory XIII, the Jesuits were the only religious Order with the power to conduct commerce and banking.

How can the Jesuits be described as a military brotherhood and vanguard for the Pope?

St. Ignatius Loyola was in the military when he was wounded in a campaign. His recover was very long, and he was confined to bed for much of that time. His entire training was military and he founded the Society of Jesus along the same principles. The Jesuits, in addition to the regular vows of poverty, chastity and obedience take a special fourth vow of immediate and unquestioning obedience to the Holy Father, thus making them the Pope's "shock troops," if you will.

Fairfield versus Loyola which college is better?

Fairfield University is definitely the better school. Fairfield has a prettier campus and better academics. Fairfield is also good for people who like to party and people who don't. There is always something going on at night at Fairfield. I know a couple people who go to Loyola in Maryland and they say if you don't drink then there's basically nothing to do.

When did Jamaican jesuit high schools began to accept locks wearing students and who made this possible?

This happened in and around the middle 1970's when the families and youths of friends told Ricardo ( Ras Cardo ) Scott about the problem. He then contacted the then assistant head master- Father Maurice Feres S.J. Who interceded and made this possible for the youths to wear their hairs in dreadlocks. The rule was established that the hair could not cause anyone in the class to not clearly see the teacher or the black-board. St. Georges college was the creme de la creme of all high schools in Jamaica and certain rules were established to keep it that way. It was a school of academic excellence, religion in catholicism, attracting the best of the best. Strict rules were the order of the day. Ricardo Scott was then a past student with good relationships and respect for the Jesuits and they trusted his judgment. Ricardo has more detailed information on all these issues. The general Jamaican populus are still not aware of the many things Ricardo has in his archives from days past.

By this action , today we see youths attending the school and other schools because of what Ras cardo did on this issue.

You would never have known these truths had Ras cardo not told you.
