What happened to Chuck Knoblauch?

Being a Minnesota Twins fan, I have often wondered the same thing. As far as I can tell he is out of pro baseball altogether. You have to wonder if he has turned down minor league deals because I'd think someone would give the guy another shot. I suppose he has a big pile of cash to sit on at home. He was a great player with the Twins but the best contribution he made after 1991 was demanding a trade. We shipped the complainer off to the Yankees and got some great players in return (Guzman, Milton, and Buchanan). Soon after he became fixated on throwing the ball into the box seats on the first baseline whenever a routine grounder was hit to him. He's in his second year of retirement, after refusing a minor league assignment in 2003. Here's an April 2004 article from the NY Times: Current and Ex-Yankee United by a Coach By JACK CURRY BOSTON, April 16

What is the value of a 1985 Kansas City Royals World Series Game Ball Signed by most of the team George Brett Willie Wilson Brett Saberhagen Dick Howser etc.?

A 1985 Kansas City Royals Team Signed Baseball with the key signatures:Brett, and Saberhagen is worth about $300.-$400.

Value is based on average prices of recently closed auctions. Prices may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the baseball. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the baseball with key signatures the more valuable. The "Game Ball" could deduct value if it is in less than excellent condition. If the signatures are not properly authenticated the baseball could sell at half the market value or less. For more information on team signed baseballs, links to full team rosters, key signatures, and price guide visit the following page from the link I left below.

What happened to the Royals this year?

First off, you couldn't have actually believed that the Royals were going anywhere but downhill. I'll admit that Pena allows for a small glimmer of hope, but not much else on the team did. Mike Sweeney slides further downhill every year, and the trading of Carlos Beltran doomed the Royals for years to come. At this point, the Royals find themselves in the same position as the post World Series victory Marlins did; rebuilding. If done right, the Royals can build themselves back up to major contender statues by the 2008 season. However, trading for Benito Santiago and Juan Gonzalez (Who boast the combined age of Rome), is not the way to do it.

When was the last time the Kansas City Royals were in the playoffs?

1985 and "The Call"

1985 was the last time the Royals were in the playoffs. They won the World Series that year, against their cross-state rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals. This series will always be remembered by the infamous blown call, by Don Denkinger, in game six, that could have essentially sealed the series for the 'Cards. Cardinal fans, to this day, will not let this go. What they fail to remember though, is that they still could have gone out and won game 7, but they didn't, losing the game 11-0. The Royals posted a 92-70 record in 1989, second best in the AL and their division, but, this was before the wild card was used in the playoffs, so they didn't advance.
