Considering the current Princess of Wales is Camilla, I can't imagine why in the world Kate would want to copy her. The Duchess of Cornwall, as she is known, is one of the laziest consorts in English/UK history, doing as few engagements as possible and spending most of her time either up at Raymill House or on extended holiday; apparently two appearances in a row are so exhausting that she has to take a holiday to rest up for the next ones. She also famously broke up another woman's marriage by cheating with him and then counseling the husband to leave the marital bed instead of talking and working things out with his wife. And of course Kate wouldn't break up another woman's marriage.

Let's hope that Kate has some work ethic and instead takes after the Queen or Princess Anne. Diana, the last Princess of Wales, is a very good example, as she was able to do over 500 appearances each year since the beginning, despite being pregnant with William and then Harry.
