All the F buttons (all 12 of them) are called "Function keys".

They do whatever the current program wants them to do.

Most (not all) games use F2 as "start new game".

most kvm units are about the same in that you connect the kvm wires comming from the kvm to the computer. you will have on a 2 port kvm there will be 2 sets of wires,one for each computer, one going to the monitor and the other going to the key bd and mouse. you will take the ones you disconnected form the first or second computer to the kvm switch..follow the manual as to the proper way to toggle between computers..

It is because it is more taxing to your body if you don't have good posture while typing. It is a great habit to have especially when you type for long hours and when you type the "right" way since it will really help you progress in your quest for speed. Plus, you can get pretty tired when typing incorrectly (I learned this the hard way).

There are a couple of ways. One of them is to take a tutorial, and one of them is to practice. There are typing games for kids that they sell, and they are fun, and help you learn at the same time. I suggest buying one of those, even if you are older. You might as well have some fun while you are learning. :) The *biggest* challenge for many people is just putting their fingers on the correct keys, and practicing that way... because, even with LOTS of practice, hunt-and-peck is slower than actually typing using all of your fingers. :) If you can learn to use the correct fingers for each letter (left fingers sitting on A, S, D, F and right fingers on J, K, L, ; and thumbs on the spacebar and then using your fingers for only letters close to them), once you get used to that and practice a lot, then you will gain a lot of speed. Eventually, if you practive enough, you won't even have to look at the keyboard anymore unless you are typing a word you have never seen before. You can just look at the screen and observe the result. With enough practice, it is *almost* like translating your thoughts into words, because it becomes almost instinctive. :) Not that direct translation is always good... sometimes you need to stop and think before you send something. So fast isn't always better... but those are some ways that I suggest.

If you mean what finger should you use to make a space while typing then i would say either your right thumb or index finger next to it.

Mr. Fix-It I am not; my personal solution is to "borrow" my Dad's keyboard while he isn't looking, then act innocently when he asks about the broken keys.

In reality, a great multitude of web sites (enter "fixing computer keyboard" to a search engine) have answers much more efficient than mine.

If you're in a web browser, it opens a webpage with coding. If you're in Word or a documenting program, it means to Underline.

The @ symbol is on the "2" key. Hold down "Shift" and press "2".

It's originated from the old typewriters. If you hit the shift key on a typewriter, an other character set became active (the capital letters), so you didn't have to put so many keys onto it. So you could shift between the 2 character set. The funcionality of the key reained the same on modern keyboards too: you can change the active character set.

The first thing to check is see if their is power going to the keyboard. Does the Number lock, Caps lock, and Scroll lock lights work? If they do work then the problem could be a bad keyboard especially if the mouse works. If the lights do not work then check the plug it could be getting a bad connection, a broken or bent pin, or not plugged in at all.
