With hunt and peck, you have to look at the keyboard because you don't know where the letters are and you have to hunt for them. Usually, this means that people use their two index fingers to type--it looks like pecking away at the keys.

It's because when you went to type something, you had hit the left shift key along with ctrl. Hold in leftshift and ctrl for about 2-4 seconds, and you should get your question mark back. Hope this helped. :)


To make it so it never happens again, go to
> control panel
> region and language
> keyboards and languages
> change keyboards
> then remove every other language except for English (us) or whatever region you want to use. before you accept try to double check that ur keyboard is on English before you do this, i had a keyboard error the first time i did it because my keyboard was still on french. (to double check make sure you are getting the proper slash when you push slash, to change it if you're not getting the slash use the (left ctrl + left shift for 3-4 seconds)

In the folder window click tools and then folder options. If you are using Vista you will probably have to push alt first. Under the view tab check "Show hidden files and folders." Click OK and the file should be visible.
