Land Pollution

People litter the environment by dumping harmful wastes into rivers, the ocean, and lakes. These wastes can be regular trash, or nasty toxins which harm animals and nature. Please do not pollute our great planet, and have a wonderful, non-polluted life!

There are 164 major rivers, but some aren't even counted so no one knows the full total.

Trees, and indeed all plant life, consume carbon dioxide (CO2) through the chemical process known as photosynthesis, which converts carbon dioxide into organic compounds using energy from sunlight and producing oxygen as a by-product. Humans and animals consume oxygen and produce CO2, as a by-product, as do many industrial processes. Forests of all types, rain forests, evergreen forests, etc., are especially efficient at this vital function (reprocessing CO2). They also provide shelter and sustenance for a great number and variety of plants, insects and animals which are also vital for the natural food chain, each species depending on the next or the former in the chain to exist. Many of these inhabitants are, as yet, undiscovered, and so, their vital and necessary function and possible use in the creation of medicines and other useful products aren't yet known.

Deforestation removes the most efficient "air scrubbers" and oxygen producers on our planet, as well as, the forest inhabitants and their potential usefulness to humans. Also, many times forests are removed, not simply for the lumber but, as a means of creating arable land for farming by burning thereby producing a great deal of carbon pollution. What is not taken into account is that the soil of forests are often only able to sustain a farm for a few growing seasons since what made the topsoil nutrient rich was the trees, insects and animals that have been removed and/or displaced by clearing the forest. The planet loses the value of the forests for CO2 removal and oxygen production and the farmer cannot survive very long on the land that was cleared by creating a great deal of pollution.

I think it was more of an attempt to contain the oil, rather than a complete containment of the oil, as oil washed up on beaches in four states and entered the wetlands in Louisiana. There were miles of oil booms laid in the Gulf to hold back the oil. To protect the wetlands, special berm were designed.

There are three classifications of water pollution. The three classifications includes: chemical pollution, human pollution, and industrial pollution. Microbiological pollution is also another classification of water pollution.

less goes down the drain and into the sewers so theres less recycling required for example long hot showers use a lot of electricity and extra water which requires more energy production and the burning of fossil fuels.

We are polluting the water bodies in easy acts such as throwing a plastic bottle into the sea. Other than that, loggers that chop down trees indirectly result in water pollution through soil erosion. Waste from factories are sometimes discharged into streams, contaminating the water. Oil spills in the seas simply pollutes the water. Other than that, greenhouse gases from factories, power plants, vehicles etc. are polluting the air, not forgetting forest fires.

Ozone present in the troposphere is also called as bad ozone. It is also a

green house gas. It is the major constituent of the urban smog.

Prevention of industrial pollution can be done by the use of green or renewable energy. Creating awareness about the importance of environmental conservation can also be a good way to stop industrial pollution.

Some pollution will always result from man's and nature's activities . The secret is to get the levels down to the natural assimilative capacity of the Earth's ecosystems.

To this end people should follow all the rules from kindergarten:

* Pick up after themselves * Don't take more than you need * Clean-up the messes you make * Don't wait for someone else to tell you to do the right thing * Keep your neighbour's stuff as neatly as you want to have your'd kept * Don't make promises you can't keep And the rule from camping:

* Leave the campground a little cleaner than you found it

Pollution is the contaminants in the environment that is harmful to all living things. The reasons for having pollution are discharging harmful gases from motor vehicles, chemical plants, plastics and improper disposal of waste.

Answer: When someone, probably your neighbour, does not have an entertainment system and you are listening to yours very loud them they get to entertain themselves by listening to your music especially if its one of their favourites; then you both get to enjoy it and when you play your stereo system loudly this is a form of noise pollution which is benefiting to others in this case.

Though there is no mandatory rule to get arrested after polluting land, but to check or control the ever expanding land pollution this can prove a very good measure. Fine can be another such measure to reduce land pollution if followed seriously..
