Yes, they are safe to use and I am a big fan of Apple computers. The Macbook will work as well as any other computer. I own an iMac and Macbook Pro myself. I would never ever buy a Windows laptop. But you are in Afghanistan so my advice would be to buy a cheap Windows laptop. Toshiba, & Lenovo are very reliable and inexpensive. Avoid HP, Dell, Asus, & Sony as they are not reliable. By buying a cheap laptop it will do all you need and if you loose it or it gets damaged you will not loose too much. When you come home you can get yourself a great Macbook Pro. But if you know there is no chance of it getting damaged or lost, then go for it and get a Mac.

Although alienware is made for gaming, it's high quality media preferences allow for beautiful graphic's and with all alienware computers you are sure to get a powerhouse built for the stress of high end gaming. Plus it run's window's, which allow for ton's of programs that you would miss out on with a mac. I am no expert so I would recommend doing some research on their website before any purchase though.
