Did the band led zepplin ever have a plane incident?

Did the band Led Zepplin ever have a plane malfunction

Why was the zeppelin dangerous?

German zeppelins, or rigid airships, were filled with hydrogen gas. Hydrogen is very flammable, so if there was a leak in the gas bag, any spark could set the airship on fire. However, this only happened once, to the airship Hindenburg, which burned and crashed while landing at Lakehurst, New Jersey.

To be honest, zeppelins were pretty safe ways to travel.

Was Led Zeppelins Tolkien influence the reason punks hated them?

No, at least not in the UK.

The hatred was mainly about music, but was also political. For punks, Led Zep epitomised overblown, self-indulgent, corporate rock music. Punk was about reclaiming rock music for ordinary kids - the idea that anyone could pick up a guitar and form a band, that you didn't need to be able to play a 10 minute guitar solo.

Punks hated a whole raft of bands in the heavy rock and progressive genres: ELP, Floyd, Yes, Genesis... But they favoured others - the Pistols openly admitted to liking Hawkwind and Can.

Punk seemed to be about destroying the past and starting again but of course as musicians they had their past influences.

Zep got singled out by some as the archetypal 'cock rockers' but it was nothing to do with Tolkein. In fact Zep's roots weren't so far removed from Punk's - both Robert Plant and Steve Jones of the Pistols loved 50's rock'n'roll. Compare Zep's version of 'C'mon Everybody' with Sid Vicous's - poles apart? Maybe not.

What is the meaning of the tattoo good times bad times?

In ancient times the yin/yang has been purported to mean the good and bad in all things, but that is not quite true as it means what makes up all things,i.e. the god and the bad.....

I believe it was Einstein who presented us with the theory that for every action, there is a reaction..........Well, this may be a bit of a stretch but everything in our lives is governed by this, and while we might regard what happens to us as Good or Bad someone else may see that as quite different...

Well now if you are not even more confused, the good and the bad tattoo means just that, it takes all things to make up our lives and our memories, the good and the bad, and we just have to deal with it.

Hope this helps...............TatuBaron

Does Jimmy Page play guitar on The Who is I Can't Explain?

Yes. He was one of the best studio musicians at the time, and the record label didn't have confidence in Townsend's musical ability, so they called in Jimmy the studio musician, just to be safe. This was a typical practice at the time.

There is also a story that Jimmy Page wouldn't let Pete borrow his effects pedal (one of the the few in London at the time), so they relented by letting him play the solo. I think the first version is more realistic, although it may be true that Page did have one of the few effects pedals in London at the time. It could be possible that Page already was called in to play the solo, as he had for many other bands, and Pete could have argued "Let me try that pedal. I bet I could play something just as good with it".

But regardless of what actually went on in the studio, playing the solo on I can't explain is one of Pages documented jobs.

What guitar did jimmy page play on stairway to heaven?

On stairway to heaven, he used a Fender Telecaster for the solo and his Les Paul for the chorus. This is info for the studio version.

==========

Jimmy Page may have used a 12-string electric for the Am-G-F riffs at the ending of "Stairway to Heaven". (Contrary to what the previous contributor wrote, "Stairway" does not have a chorus.) Live, Page uses a Gibson EDS-1275 for the song, and it is shown clearly in all Led Zeppelin film and video releases that Page uses the 6-string neck for the intro (the acoustic part on the studio version), and then the 12-string neck for everything up to the solo, where he finally switches back to the 6-string neck. After the solo, he switches back to the 12-string neck for the riff.

A Fender Electric XII was used for the 12-string parts on the studio recording. The solo was played on the Fender Telecaster given to Page by Jeff Beck, as a token of appreciation to Page for introducing Beck to The Yardbirds.
