Lego bricks used to be made from cellulose acetate plastic from 1950 to 1963. If you try to build models out of such old lego bricks, they will not fit well because they will now be warped and discoloured slightly. More stable plastics were invented. Since 1964 the newer bricks have been made from molded ABS plastic. ABS is a complex chemical substance called a polymer, which is itself made up of a chain of molecules in a repeated pattern like many lego blocks stuck together by molecular bonds in a long chain of repeated shapes. This polymer (ABS) stands for Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. It is made from several simpler chemicals. The acrylonitrile is made from mixing ammonia gas with Propylene. The Butadiene is made by seperating a fraction (the C4 fraction) of the steam cracking process of Petroleum. The Styrene is made from the dehydrogenation of Ethyl Benzene, which in turn comes from ethylene and benzene. Don't forget that also certain dyes or paints are used to colour each of the types of bricks during the formation of the plastics. I bet you're sorry you asked now. :)

I've made my own world trade center model out of lego and this is how I recommend you go about it.

Step 1- Determine how big you want the model to be,

Find a baseplate and work out how big, tall, wide you want it to be.

Step 2- Study

Look at pictures, videos and other people's models. This will help you get a better understanding of the pieces you need, what it looks like and how to build it.

Step 3- Organize Pieces

Determine what pieces you need organize them. If you don't have the desired pieces you can buy them at lego.com's pick a brick. This is where you can select pieces piece by piece and then purchase them.

Step 4- Layout

Lay the first pieces on the plate. Just the outlines of the buildings and roads.

Step 5- Build away

Start building up your towers.

Step 6- Details

Once you have the basic structure "buildings,roads,plaza" add small details such as trees, signs, the plaza sculpture, crosswalks and other small items that will make your model pop.

Tips-

Your model won't be perfect at first so over time tweak and ajust it. I've been slowly adjusting and modifying my model over the last year and it just keeps getting better

I don't really know. But I think I read somewhere that they're open to suggestions. The designs are built to be practical and fir the shape and other details to be realistic. But then, if not practical enough, changes must be made. Also, designs can't be to complex large or expensive because to complicated might annoy some users but more older users sometimes enjoy it. Obviously the less expensive the more they sell but the more complex sets use more pieces and therefore are all larger. Hence mor expensive. I think I answered your question but I do get side-tracked and carried away very easily. Just trying to help.

Yes, they have a Lego duplo kind of set. If your child is less than three years old, you should get Lego duplo. If your child is less than a year old, you might want to get Lego quatro.

You don't. It takes time, patience and sometimes tools. I use the Lego separator, pliers, needle nose pliers, fingernails and (don't tell my mother) my teeth.

Decals come standard with adhesive and this is designed to stick to your surface. Different quality decals have different quality adhesives. Some are designed to be long lasting, others are repositionable and other for high traffic areas like laptops.

If you buy a Lego car from a store, you can fallow the instructions.

If you're creating a Lego car by yourself it may take a couple days, but look below

1. Think about how you want to make a car, or print a picture of a car you want to build with Legos.

2. Build the base of the car first (If you don't want the car to look weird, try to make it just the right size).

3. After finishing building the base of the car, if you're starting making from front to back, still building up the car.

4. If you're trying to make the car turning, the front of the car MUST be more sperated.

5. If you're not making the car turning, you can make the car just the same size.

6. When you're finished making your Lego car and want to put somewhere at home, becarefull when handeling your Lego car.

Note:

If you make the Lego car starting from front to back, it may break easily. Since the base of the car is the most important, it MUST be connected togerther tightly.
