no. The differences between ethernet and token ring are greater then the frame type. Ethernet uses CDMA and token ring uses.....well a token. Token ring adapters have an on-board processor for source route bridging which uses a RIF field and ethernet has nothing of the sort.
There are many more examples, but the simple answer is it will not work.

What are the roles of a client and server and how do they interact over the network?
A server waits for a request by a client. When the client sends the requests, the server answers to it. Examples are file servers, that listen to requests from clients wanting to save or retrieve files; print servers that wait for requests to print (and then print them); DHCP servers that wait for requests to provide IP addresses; etc.

How do you determine the name of the remote computer before connecting?
Remotely it's almost impossible to do especially when you don't know the remote computer name. In order to use remote connection you need to know either the remoter computer ip address or the full name. The full name includes the computer name as well as the name of the domain and subdomain where it's connected to. The easiest way to use an ip address but not universal (in case if you are connected a DHCP server or if you are using ip addresses reserved for local networks such as 192.*.*.* and so on).
A DHCP Server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically gives network devices (computer, smart phone, etc.) the configuration information required to communicate on a network. The DHCP server will assign a device an IP address, a subnet mask and a default gateway. Some DHCP servers will also provide the network device with further configuration information such as the address of a DNS (Domain Name Server).
When your computer or smart phone connects to a wireless network, it has most likely recieved is configuration from a DHCP server.

How do you turn on tcp ip for an internet connection?
TCP/IP is not something you can turn on or off; if the networking software is installed in your system then it is always looking at network data traffic.
The use of TCP/IP is governed by the protocols you are using, and that is governed by the application program you may be using.
There isn't anything that a user needs to do (besides installing the network driver) to use TCP/IP in an Internet connection. (You do have to configure the workstation or device, but that's about it).
If the router is taken out of the equation then you would be talking about a LAN (local area network). A router is responsible for connecting different LANs together, and if the distance is great enough then we are talking about a WAN (wide area network).
If computers are not connected to the internet at the same time over another cable or wireless, no it is not possible to see the data being transferred
What does integrated lan mean?

Several have plug-in modems since the majority of emulate a modem with the audio support on the motherboard. You continue to will need a header with the phone jack on the back of the computer. One additional consideration would be built-in wifi support; most laptops have this, but few desktops do.
