What is that weird sound you make when you yawn?
This is a funny question that I just had to take a stab at! :)
I do not think it is actually the yawn that makes the noise, but most people stretch when they yawn. This is known as pandiculation. This is just a guess but when you stretch it tightens the vocal chords similar to the strings on a guitar. The yawn itself takes in air quickly which strum the chords (hope you can follow a metaphor, cause I can't think of how else to explain it) and produce the noise you hear when you yawn. This is why breathing alone does not cause the noise because the vocal chords are not tightened. Like if you were to try and play a guitar with very loose strings, it would make no sound. This is just a theory, but it is the best explanation that I have. :)
What systems are affected by reduced lung function?
All of them! Reduced lung function reduces the amount of oxygen in the entire body.
What organ allows oxygen that passes from them into capilleries?
The lungs. Oxygen enters our lungs as part of the air that we breathe. It goes to the blood vessels deep in our lungs and then on to all parts of our body.
Why are lungs not suitable for breathing water?
Air breathers are more sensitive to changes in carbon dioxide concentration than to changes in oxygen. Regulation of ventilation is normally driven by receptors that are sensitive to dissolved carbon dioxide levels and the acidity (pH) of the blood. Where can you hear the right middle lobe most efffectively on the anterior chest?
The right middle lobe is heard best in the right axilla while standing behind the patient. The anterior chest would find the right middle lobe between the sternum and the nipple.
Does Swine Flu go to your lungs?
Yes, the swine influenza virus is primarily a respiratory disease. The primary symptoms are cough and sneezing with fever, body aches, and other symptoms typical of all flu strains. It is not uncommon for the respiratory bronchitis and bronchiolits to turn into viral pneumonia. Secondary infections by bacteria can add bacterial pneumonia on top of the rest.
the answer to that is RESPIRATION
What the blood have when it moves to the lungs?
The questions leads towards which physiological important gases the blood contains.
When the blood moves TO the lungs it has both CO2 (carbondioxide) and O2 (oxygen). However the level of oxygen is lower, and the level of CO2 is higher than with blood coming from the lungs.
bronchioles
Left ventricle lead to fluid in the lungs?
Left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood out through aorta and to the rest of the body.
The right ventricle will pump deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary artery to get oxygenated in the lungs. Then the oxygenated blood will come back down the pulmonary vein into the left atria, and then left ventricle.
The blood never fills up the lungs, the gas exchange occurs within the capillaries in the lungs.
Is calcium deposit in left lung cancer?
probably not. But calcium deposits do grow and can lead to cancer if it get bigger.
Why would smokers lungs look different to a non smokers lung?
healthy lungs makes it easy to breath and feeds the rest of your body the oxygen it needs. when the lungs are not healthy its harder to get oxygen
if too little or no oxygen get get through the lungs you will suffocate
Can you die if Lysol cans in your lungs?

Why does one collapsed lung not affect the other lung?
both the lungs are not intertwined like other organs. Tey both work in unison, yes, but theink of them like kidney. When one fails, you have the other. You have to lungs that both pump air in your blood. So when one fails, you still have the other, like kidneys. But when you are old you need to have strong lungs because as you age the lungs get weaker.
It's were the delivery company picked the package up at, basically it means they got it and it's on it's way.
When you smoke why does your lungs turn black?
Smoking does not turn your lungs black. This is a myth created by educational tools developed to discourage kids from smoking Cigarettes. The pictures you always see with black lungs displayed are actually pig lungs that have been dyed to represent smoker's lungs. Some even have fake tumors sewn into them before they are preserved and plasticized for the kits. While black lung is real, it is related to significant carbon inhalation such as you might see in a coal miner.
This does not mean that smoking does not harm your lungs. While there are no outward appearances of damage unless the patient has severe emphysema, dissection of the lungs of smokers will show the alveolar spaces of the smoker contain numerous scavenger cells (macrophages) that are filled with engulfed (phagocytized) particles of impurities and debris.
The good news is that damage to the lungs from smoking will be repaired, over time, if a smoker quits. While the black lung images falsely suggest the tissue in the lungs is dying, this is not what happens. The lungs will heal if you stop smoking. It just takes time.
What are lungs' hair cells called?
Cillia are small hairs that have the function of "sweeping" tubes in our bodies. The cillia in our lungs sweep dust and other impurities towards our throat. Usually at night and in our sleep we cough or clear our throat and swallow this mucous. Yuk, but keeps our lungs clean.
How do you deter ducks geese from pooping under my carport?
Most fowl (er, birds) do not like rattling or clanking sounds. Have you tried the tinkling or louder sounds of several wind chimes hung from the carport's under-hang? You could also buy some pin-wheels to put into the ground on any open sides. Make sure you keep garbage cans or other food sources away from the carport, preferably as far away as possible. Also keep any grasses cut low around that area.
