How do you address a Lutheran Vicar?
Simply by his name, for example: Mr. John Smith.

Hence, it is inappropriate to address any person using a religious title that would place him/her in a role only rightly held by our creator, Jehovah God.
I would ignore the above. Actually if you call someone Mr, you are calling them "Master"! The passage of scripture also says call no one your Teacher - but we do.
The way to address them in speech is "Father X", on an envelope "The Revd XX" if they are a priest.
Of course the most polite way to address someone is how THEY wish to be addressed and not how some biblical fundamentalist thinks they should be addressed.
Why was the RCC called the lutheran heretic?
