Tradition dictates that after a fresh install of Mac OS X on a new Mac you open a Finder window (from the first icon on the left of the dock at the bottom of the screen) Select the Applications folder. Find PhotoBooth in the list of applications. Double click on PhotoBooth's icon. Mess about with the whacky wonderfulness that is PhotoBooth.

If you are referring to the Mac OS X dashboard widget, it is a variant of Joseph Weizenbaum's Eliza artificial intelligence program that simulates a Rogerian psychiatrist.

Go to the wireless network properties and choose "Connect to this network first". You might have to edit setting for your wireless adapter and make sure that you do not have chosen "Connect to any available network".

The only way to run toribash on a Mac OS X is to use bootcamp (or something like it) and to use a more updated version of Windows, or you can find some way to run a more updated version of Mac.

You can use whatever your computer's motherboard is capable of using. OS-X is an operating system - and thus is not 'memory dependent'. Just as with Windows - OX-S will utilize whatever memory is available.

The Home & End key function can be replicated on Mac keyboards without the designated keys by pressing the Function (Fn) key and the Left or Right Arrow key at the same time.

This can vary depending on the application being used. With Microsoft's Word, for example, the Command key is required. In general either the Ctrl / Alt / Cmd / Fn key combined with the arrow keys will usually perform some useful function.

The Pinnacle Studio 12 software only works with the Windows operating system and will not work on a Mac with Mac OS X. Macs come with iMovie and iDVD (See links below) which perform the same job.

From what I know that was in the past, nowadays there is no big differences. Main difference is because Mac computers are more expensive and you can not compare Mac which costs 2000$ with Windows computer which costs 500$.

Depending on what region/language keyboard you have, your keyboard combination for an asterisk may be different. For the United States/English keyboard layout, you hold down shift and press the "8" key.

You can also add symbols like the asterisk by enabling the Character Viewer. First, go to your System Preferences (either by clicking the icon in the Dock, or going to your Apple menu and then clicking on System Preferences). Then, go to Language and Text (this may be called something different depending on what version of the operating system you are running, but it is the icon in the top row with a blue flag). Click on "Input Sources," and then check the box next to "Keyboard and Character Viewer."

You will now see a flag icon for your default language in the menu bar, near your battery indicator. You can click on the flag and select "Show Character Viewer," which will display a viewer for finding all the possible font symbols, glyphs, and dingbats available for the active fonts on your Mac. You can do a search for "asterisk" and see the different styles that come up, and either double-click or copy-and-paste to insert it into your current text field.

As for general security there aren't that many areas of concern.

Yet, it is always suggested to upgrade to the lastest OS for security purpose.

As the use of Intranets and Extranets has grown, so has the need for security. Intranet and Extranet security breaches can take a variety of forms. For example, (!) An unauthorized person, such as a contractor or visitor, might gain access to a company’s computer system. (!) An employee or supplier authorized to use the system for one purpose might use it for another. For example, an engineer might break into the HR database to obtain confidential salary information. (!) Confidential information might be intercepted as it is being sent to an authorized user. For example, an intruder might attach a network sniffing device to the network. While sniffers are normally used for network diagnostics, they can also be used to intercept data coming over the wire. (!) Users may share documents between geographically separated offices over the Internet or Extranet, or telecommuters accessing the corporate Intranet from their home computer can expose sensitive data as it is sent over the wire. (!) Electronic mail can be intercepted in transit.

Fortunately, there are a variety of techniques available to address these security holes within Extranets and Intranets. Keep in mind five fundamental goals of a security system: Privacy, Authentication, Content Integrity, Non-repudiation, and Ease-of-use, a set of technologies have been developed over the past fifteen years that are particular well suited to meeting these five security goals. Legally Mac OS X can only be installed on computers made by Apple. Some people have had success installing it on other computers.

Not sure about Mac OS X but, in Linux it depends on what desktop environment you use. Some don't use 'Start Menu's at all. I'm not sure they have names at all other than application menu/list.
