It all depends on the breed. The typical age is anywhere from 8-14 months.

this website is a very good site to consult.... towards the end it talks about home-cooked meals for your maltese, listing human foods that will benefit their diet.

first answer: They could. But most dogs will only mate with another dog, and most rabbits will only mate with another rabbit.
disagreement: No, they definitely could not mate: the above answer is wrong. Rabbits and dogs are completely different species: they can't mate.
Don't let your dog try to mate with your rabbit: it could lead to serious injury, and emotional trauma! If that starts to happen, separate the animals immediately, and don't let them together again if they won't play nice. Never leave them alone together, even if they get along really well.
If the male has not been neutered and/or the female has not been spayed, then yes. And unneutered dog can get any unspayed female dog pregnant.
It's best to cross with a breed that is similar in size and stature to the Maltese. For example, a toy or miniature poodle could be cross bred and would look cute.
Yes, all dogs shed, even the "hairless" breeds. But the Maltese does shed less than other breeds. They need regular grooming to prevent build up of shed hair and to keep them clean of dander and dirt. Their coats can mat up easily if not brushed regularly as well.
According to dogbreedinfo.com (link below), boxers have litters from 2-10 puppies with 6 being the average. But if my own experience with golden retrievers is worth anything, anything can happen from a one puppy litter to sixteen. However, please think very hard before breeding your dog if this is why you were asking. There are many, many dogs that are already born and currently need homes.
Maltese puppies can cost from around $800 to $6,000. I got one that costs $800, and I love her just as much as a $6,000 dollar one, maybe even more!
As you can see, the prices greatly range and this is primarily due to quality. The most important thing is to find a reputable and responsible Maltese breeder and buy from them. Typically, breeders with a good reputation will charge more than breeders without a the reputation, but it is usually worth it because you know you're getting your dog from a good source. If you buy from an unreputable breeder, than the cost is usually less, but the risk that the dog could develop health problems is greater, and those vet bills could far exceed the amount saved from buying from an unreputable source.
Contact many breeders and ask them lots of questions about their breeding program. Get references from others that have bought dogs from them in the past. Ten, contact those people to find out how well their experience went with that particular breeder. Do this work in the beginning could save you a lot of time, money, and heartache later.
Well, Maltese dogs are very small puffy cute white dogs. if it's a mix, then it will probably look bigger than it's normal size, like if you think a jack Russell terrier mixed with a Maltese is a normal Maltese, you might see:
-its bigger
-it has more hair, more curly, and wooly.
-and it's ears are more flappy.
have more questions, i answer all of them! -fluffangel1999
One can find free beagle puppies by looking in classified section of newspaper and classified websites. One can also find puppies at local animal shelters, all though there may be a small adoption fee.
Maltese usually smell really nice, unless you don't bathe them for a VERY long time, get extremely dirty and aren't cleaned, or are neglected (as for most dogs). If you take care of them properly they will smell good for a while without a bath.
:)
I have left mine for as long as from 9am-7 or 8pm (which was a really really long time). Your Maltese should be fine as long as it has a wee pad, food, and water. Although I do not recommend leaving a Maltese with anxiety issues alone for too long. The amount of time your dog can tolerate depends on how hyper and calm it is--I wouldn't suggest leaving it for more than 9 or 10hrs (being the very most, and not all the time either). On the average day maybe 5 or 6hrs should be the maximum. If you are planning to go away for a long time, I suggest having your Maltese stay at a dog hotel. :) hope this helped!!
Yes, the Malayan tiger is one of six surving subspecies of tiger - three more are extinct. It is found only in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula, in the southern tip of Thailand and Malaysia.
It was only identified as being a separate subspecies to the Indochinese tiger as recent as 2004. The number of Malayan tigers in the wild is estimated at 500.

Actually, there are purebreed black malteses. The black comes from a far off trait that they had obtained from an ancester who wasn't a purebreed. When a mixed breed Maltese is breed with a pure breed Maltese, those puppies with not be pure breed but as you keep breeding those puppies with purebreed and then the puppies of those puppies breed with a purebreed then eventually, as each new set of puppies is born from the last, they will regain their purebreed status. This has happened, someone breed two purebreed white malteses and one puppy came out black. The puppy that was born had received a gene that had been long since dormant. Black Maltese aren't very common but they are out there. Actually, today of May 7th, 2011, I ran into a girl at PetCo who had a puppy black Maltese. And he had his purebreed papers.
A teacup Maltese is a smaller Maltese. The term "teacup" is a marketing tool referring to really small, and often unhealthy, dogs. "Teacup" puppies are often badly-bred puppies, with no concerns to their health or temperament - they are only bred to produce the smallest-sized puppies possible. No responsible breeder will breed or even sell a very small or unhealthy puppy.
All dogs do. If you don't want blood stains on your carpet, I would consider nuetering.
I would sell one. But then again. You can scold him and then he will learn. Or teach the Female to fight back! (just to run away not violently)
They are very active and hyper. I have 2 Maltese and my 1year old is more calm than my puppy. He lays wherever I am and he listens very well. My puppy is a little more playful but she is calm for the most part. Having a Maltese was the best decision I have made. They are wonderful pets.
The Maltese comes from Malta, an island halfway between the coasts of Sicily and North Africa and was developed in Italy.
