If you are referring to the Mardi Gras parade that has been taking place since 1968, the number of floats varies from year to year. But according to their website, the number in the Bacchus Parade is generally 30-32 floats. The parade you are asking about was from 2010, the year they honored the New Orleans Saints (Drew Brees was the King, and he threw replica gold-colored footballs to the huge crowd); according to most sources, the parade was slightly larger that year. Some news reports said 33 floats, others said 34.

The official dessert for Mardi Gras is the King cake. It is a tradition that is from New Orleans. During Mardi Gras people will have parties where everyone will get a piece of King cake. Inside the cake there is a hidden baby (normally its a very small plastic one). The person who find the baby in their cake has the responsibility of buying the next King cake.

i am Chris Wharton owner of the Mardi Gras in 1972. We had Thin Lizzie on the Mardi 3 times including the last night prior to demolition of the premises.That night they were billed with The Roy young Band. I had previously booked Thin Lizzie in 1971 at Tomorrow Club in Wallasey Merseyside.
