For that, you'll have to go to your personal records by pressing the button on the top when you're picking your licence. Then, go to the records button, (second/middle button). Then, you'll see all of your personal stuff. Or, when you go on wifi, it will show you how many stars you have, or it will show you a wheel. (Depending how good you are).

To get a star rank, you must perform well on the cup. Getting 60 points helps, and you should try to stay in first place as much as possible. Don't run into obstacles, or items, that can also bring your rank down.

If you have driven before in real life you would probably prefer the Wii wheel however since its motion sensitve like the wii remote it can be faulty at times the classic controller would be better off.

It depends on who is doing the hiring. However, I will say this. Most colleges have caught on to this rapidly growing field and are now offering degrees in Game Design, Development, and Creation. It would not hurt looking into this you will need a bachelors degree for most of the game designing jobs.
