Michael Chiklis has had very informal training in several arts. This would be no different than any other star that has trained in action movies other than known martial artist legends such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, etc. Chiklis has played in several movies and tv shows. All of the techniques he would have learned would have been used for his acting career only. For The shield, he had informal training in Aikido, Jiujitsu, and basic striking arts. He has no rank in the martial arts community. It was all done for show.

Depending on your actual definition of Martial Arts, the first was actually boxing matches and training held in ancient Egypt as depicted on their hieroglyphics. In no way is Kendo any where near being the oldest art.

I suspect most martial arts fans would say Bruce Lee's "Enter The Dragon", because Bruce Lee is just such an explosive character and the film is chocked full of action. But in the end it is down to personal choice and one of my favourites is "Kiss Of The Dragon" with Jet Li.

The art of Tae Kwon Do is probably very original from Korea and could be as old as Korea itself! I would say the closest martial art would be Hap Ki Do, which is also from Korea, and also as old as the first one.

Even though these two martial arts are very different, the do share some of the basic moves, such as certain kicks and punches. I'm no historian, but did have the privilege of practicing both sports. Hap Ki Do as a small kid, and Tae Kwon Do as a teen.

In my opinion, Hap Ki Do is focused more on the self defense side, and Tae Kwon Do is more on the aggressive side. I would even compare Hap Ki Do to Judo and Tae Kwon Do to Karate if I had to make an analogy.

Art will give you something to turn to when you are depressed. Some of our greatest thinkers were also wonderful artists. if they did not teach art then children like Claude Monet wouldn't grow up to become artists. Everyone has thier weakness's though and not everyone will grow up to be a famous artist.

The term "Samurai" means "to serve the nobility." I believe he does here is why number one some of those moves he performed in big Stan especailly with then nunchuck swinging there is no trick photography to that and furthermore and not just that he appeared along side jean claude van damme in the movie knockoff he was using martial arts in that movie too and that was before he was a well known like he is now that was before he got his deuce bigalow image created which ultimately made him famous so yes I do believe he knows martial arts now whether he is a martial arts master i don't know and on big Stan he had 6 months of training before he went to prison there is no way u can learn all that and then some of being a martial arts master in only 6 months it would take years to get as good as big Stan was to be able to break a brick with his fist to be able to run his middle finger thru a wooden board and furthermore to beat up a martial arts sensei who in their first fight whipped big Stan's ass and then the second fight big Stan whipped his ass that's no sudden thing he already knew martial arts before he did big Stan that's just my outlook on it i could be wrong but i don't think so

Kali/Escrima/Arnis (different names for the same martial art) was developed in the Phillipines. It is a style that involves using a particular sort of hanbo (quarterstaff) that is light but sturdy. There are also techniques for use of two hanbo (one in each hand) and some limited empty-handed techniques (presumably that entail disarming/taking the opponent's hanbo).

This style is reasonably easy to find in major US cities, and is popular as a sport.

Most martial arts will teach you to use weapons and will teach you defense without any tools. Judo and Jiu-jitsu, what they call ground martial arts, teaches you grappling and take-downs, which usually doesn't require weapons. But it's good to know how to handle them, and to learn defense against them, because you never know what your offender could have up his/her sleeve. It is unlikely that you would have access to a martial arts weapon in the event of an attack,it is also impractical and probably illegal.Two are Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu

It depends upon the martial art. It can also differ based on the rank of the instructor.

Japanese martial arts refer to the instructor as sensei. Sensei is Japanese for teacher, literally translating before born or one who is born before. Chinese arts use the term 'sifu.' Korean arts use the term 'saboom.'

it all depends on what your going to do. if you plan on practiceing kicking or working out your legs i would suggest you buy a couple of small kicking bags and 1 or 2 big bags that hang. or more... your choice. also i think you would need some punching bags also. those are the main things you will need.

I thought Jean's acting ability in the beginning was much better, but Chuck has come a long way and I think he has passed van Damme.

If you meant in fighting ability, Chuck has the better record.

Chuck Norris has had a lot of TV and film acting under his belt (no pun on belt ), so he is more comfortable in front of the camera. Jean-Claude lacks the TV experience, however, based on his younger age could probably out perform Chuck in karate.

As far as box office is concerned, Chuck Norris has a bigger audience and is appearing in the new movie Expendables 2.
