Would a ball dropped from the same height fall faster on hit the ground first on the moon or on earth?

It appears that you wish to know which would result in falling faster, parachuting from an airplane flying above the earth, or parachuting from one flying above the moon.

The moon has no air, so whether you use a parachute or not would make no difference. You would fall at an acceleration of about one-sixth that of earth, or about 1.6 meters per second per second. The velocity at which you hit the ground depends on the height. It's the square root of twice the height times the acceleration. From 10 meters up you would land at 5.6 m/s, which might be survivable. Perhaps you could try to land on top of your useless parachute, as a cushion. From 100 meters you would hit at about 18 m/s, which is over 40 miles per hour. From "regular" airplane height, 1000 meters or more, your impact velocity would be over 60 m/s.

In earth's atmosphere your fall would be limited to perhaps 200 km per hour even without a parachute, because of the friction of the air on your body. With a parachute, you could fall very slowly, perhaps 10 km/h (that's like 3 m/s or 6 miles/hour) or less, and avoid injury.

The greatest difficulty in your experiment would be flying the airplane above the moon, because (as we already noted) the moon lacks an atmosphere. Instead you would need to use a rocket, or build a tall tower from which to jump. In either case, you would almost certainly be killed upon striking the ground, regardless of the moon's lesser gravity. As an exercise, you should calculate the greatest height from which your fall would not cause you injury.

Some of the numbers shown here are undoubtedly in error. Velocities are shown in miles/hour, m/s and km/h, and the conversions between them were sloppy. See

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equations_of_Motion

for the correct equations, and work out the actual consequences of your experiment for yourself.

Is there a grant for martial arts schools?

You don't need a grant; there is a Shotokan Karate organization that teaches Karate for free. They do have optional things you have to pay for though; uniforms if you don't provide your own, and contributing to a larger fund for Karate camp, martial arts equipment, that kind of thing. Far as charging for the lessons though, it doesn't happen its free. You will have to look at a Shotokan website to see if there are any chapters in your city, or near where you live. You don't need to pay a small fortune to learn Karate; Shotokan is common enough, you can learn it for free. Also, as a general rule you are not supposed to charge too much tuition when you run a martial arts school; in China, many masters sold their skills for money, but, they charged relatively low amounts, arguing that the reputation and effectiveness of a school would work to ensure the master's family was kept well-fed. I don't mean to get into stereotypes here but, it is better if you train at a school where the master is married, and raising a family; because there is more at stake, the quality of instruction is bound to be better. Again though no need; with Shotokan Karate its free. However if you absolutely MUST get some money, you will probably need to go through some legal red tape, and start some sort of organization designed to collect money for that purpose.

Do martial artist have to warn people if they get in a fight?

No.

Why? It is none of their business what you do in your free time. The law basically say that you have to live with the consequences of your actions. Someone attacking you is willing to take the risk that they will lose. They probably can't imagine it happening, but that is the risk they decided to take.

So, are you supposed to stop and show them your certificates and trophies? What amount of training would you have to have in order to be required to warn them. Is one class enough? Does a yellow belt have to provide the same warnings as a 5th degree black belt? Does the style matter?

At the same time, you have to be willing to live with the consequences of what you do, which might mean their death or permanent injury.

And being a martial artist, you would never attack them, defense only.

Is there a green belt in Tae Kwon Do?

In Korean Tae Kwon Do, green belt is the third belt after white belt and means that you are of intermediate rank and may progress from solo one-step forms to free sparring.

The green belt represents a student's progress toward black belt. It represents a certain level of skill or a certain set of skills. Each school sets its own curriculum, so two students from different school with a green belt might not know all the same kicks, blocks or forms.

All belt systems are based on the system developed by Kanō Jigorō, the Japanese founder of Judo (and Jujitsu.) Originally, there were six student grades referred to by number. A student would begin at Grade 6 and work up to Grade 1: (6) white, (5) yellow, (4) orange, (3) green, (2) blue, (1) red. Then they would graduate to black belt. The black belts were divided into 9 ranks. A student would begin at Rank 1 and work up to Rank 9. Black belt ranks have been standardized, but student grades have not.

Poetically, the green belt represents a plant growing from the earth as the student's skills develop.

What are the basic movement in arnis?

Arnis is a Filipino Martial Art where it uses Hardened sticks for training. It is the extension of the hands. There are many variations and styles of Arnis so it is "performed" differently depending on the Guro(instructor). But the basics on holding and strike with the stick is the same. One holds the stick a Fist's length away from the tip of the sticks tip. One must hold firmly without loosening the fingers when striking. The strikes vary from angle strikes with slicing motion or impact strikes. The target of basic strikes in many styles of Filipino Martial arts also varies, from the top of the head(temple, eyes, neck, etc.) to the torso and legs. It is recommended to practice the basics with a real Guro ,Punong Guro or Master, who is certified or affiliated with a Philippine organization or Filipino Martial Arts school.

Is taijutsu real?

Jyuuken, which is used to refer to a gentle fist type taijutsu, is a name given to a style used in the anime Naruto. There are similar martial arts, though the overuse of the idea of the chakra in the cartoon is a bit extreme.

Hsing-i style and Pa qua style are the closest fighting styles to Jyuuken, and are interchangeable and often taught together. combined the two styles are about 90% the same as Jyuuken, right down to the use of eight trigrams, again, however, the idea of chakra in the anime is portrayed far more powerful than it actually is. Neji's fatal heart blow can not actually be performed with one strike, rather, five precise blows are necessary.

A good deal of Jyuuken, at least in Jyuuken Sentai Gekiranger, was based of of the beast system popular in kungfu, much in the same way that the four main styles of kungfu were the basis for Bending in Avatar: The Last Airbender. There is a Tiger Style (Jan, Dan) of kunfu, as well as a dragon style (Long). The others are blended versions of other styles, such as Gou's style, the primary base for it is Muay Thai, but are not outrightly those styles. The actual fighting style in Jyuuken Sentai Gekiranger is Kenpo, which is more or less translated as Beast Fist, further implies it's base in the beast system of kungfu.

What is the proper way to hold the arnis stick?

The answer is , "it depends". If you mean while carrying it while hunting there are several ways. If you don't expect any game to pop up or you are unloaded walking in or out of the woods then a sling over your shoulder is fine. If you are stalking expecting to see game any second then hold it with your trigger hand by the pistol grip with your finger out of the trigger guard, safety ON and your other hand under the forend near the balance point of the gun, muzzle up in front of you. Be careful if you are hunting with others, watch your muzzle and be aware of their location also look out for other hunters in the woods. Never point your gun until you are sure it's the game you want to shoot and there is nothing beyond the target you may hit by accident. Another way to carry it casually is to hang it in the crook of your elbow. bring your forearm horizontally across your midsection and let the gun hang in your elbow at about the pistol grip. Be careful not to get mud or snow or anything in the barrel, bad things will ahppen if you shoot it while it's plugged! It's not too hard to bring the gun up to shoot if game appears but it's not an ideal way if you are trying to flush game.

Now, holding a rifle to shoot while standing is fairly simple. Stand with your feet slightly apart and roughly 45 degrees from the target (if you drew a line across the tips of your toes.) Place your non trigger hand on the bottom of the forend ahead of the trigger guard at the point where the gun will balance, elbow under the gun. Some guns don't have a good balance point like this so you'll have to see what's comfortable for your gun. Raise the butt of the gun up onto the front of your shoulder just above the armpit, place your trigger hand around the grip, elbow out to the side almost horizontal, again don't put your finger on the trigger yet, and put rearward pressure to press the butt into your shoulder. Believe me, if you do this it will reduce the felt recoil of the gun. Now align your sights on your target, release the safety, place your finger on the trigger at about the first joint. Take a deep breath, slowly exhale, stop and squeeze the trigger. The gun should fire almost as a surprise, you don't want to snap the trigger, you'll pull off target. Practice this and you'll soon be shooting more accutately. If you are in the field always try to find a rest on a tree, your back pack or with your elbows on your knees if you are sitting. Even drop to one knee if you are in the open, anything to help steady the gun.

Good Shooting!

What is an aikidoka?

I belong to a Yoshinkan Dojo so I will be more than happy to answer your question. Yoshinkan Aikido was founded by Gozo Shioda in 1955. Shioda was a student under the founder of the Art, Morihei Ueshiba. Shioda took Aikido and shortened the techniques to make them more practicle for police, law enforcment, and military in which Shioda taught all of who I just mentioned. Yoshinkan is big on movements and usually use "smaller circles" rather than Aikikai's "Big circles".

Yoshinkan Aikido is still taught to the Tokyo Riot Police today and other security agencies. In Japan, the women officers are required to have a black belt in Aikido, and the men have the option between Judo and Aikido. So it is very well still in use today.
