Tobey Maguire was going to return to play his character in the fourth film- but it ended up not being made as he decided he never wanted to play Spider-Man again due to Sam Raimi pulling out of directing. So the fourth movie ended up being a reboot with Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man.

Is there a website for online comic books?
The marvel.com website has a section called Web Comics. While you do have to pay to gain access to the entire library, there are many free sample comics, including some X-men comics. Not the best if you want to follow the story, but the quality is very nice.
