There are plenty of ways to draw a mermaid. The best way to learn is to get a how-to-draw book. This is how I draw mermaids. I first draw the head, and chest of a woman. Sometimes I make a small bump showing that the mermaid has a breast. Keep drawing the woman, and once you need to put a belly button, stop. Add the belly button, and then make a heart starting from the waist. Look at a picture of Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and you will see what I am talking about. Or, you can make a zig-zagged line connecting both sides of the waist, at the bottom. Make two curvy lines, and don't make them too far apart, or too close. Slowly connect them; doesn't matter if the end is pretty small. Then, add fish tails/fins. I hope that helps! :)

If one analyzes the cartoon, as I did, she really doesn"t have any unless one wants to count Prince Eric, the latter-day Viking. stop and think, she is in hot water (no pun intended) with her Father, is apparently Motherless, falls in with bad company and Black Magic-The sea witch, called Ursula in the cartoon, and really doesn"t have any friends in either Atlantis or topside, except her Paramour. I really don"t think it is healthy stuff for young kids-and it does escalate into violence!

There has never been any found forensic evidence that has ever suggested that mermaids or mermen ever existed. There has been loads of fakes over the years, often called Fiji mermaids, which are almost always the mummified remains of a small monkey and a fish stitched together to look like an infant mermaid. Not that I believe that they ever existed, but I would assume that if they did and the fact that they always live in the oceans in mythology, that the remains would be quickly eaten by a shark or something of the sort, but still you would think that something would've been found by now. Ursula, the Sea witch. In the Anderson version she was a more personable character offering solutions to the Mermaid"s problems, and was drawn humanoid with no animal characteristics. also she was just called the Sea Witch, a nice name for a pirate ship or Blockade Runner!

Mermaids are mythical creatures. They are said to be half-woman, half-fish. The myth seems to be that ancient fishermen saw mysterious creatures, of which they thought to be half-woman, half-fish, thus the name "mermaid". This could be true, but many people doubt it. I support it!
