Oh wow! THat is an easy answer, absolutely yes! The severity of the withdrawals symptoms depends on how long you have been taking the methadone. If you have just taken it once, (which is highly dangerous, deadly even) then you should not have any withdrawals that you notice from the methadone. However, if you had been using heroin and then used methadone for one time, you will still have another day or two, depending again on how long you have been taking the other opiate such as heroin, of withdrawals. Now, if you have been on methadone for an extended period of time, say two weeks to a month, you will have withdrawals that are a bit stronger than heroin. However, if you have been taking methadone, either prescribed or otherwise, for longer than 2-3 months, you can guarantee that you are going to go through some horrid withdrawals. If you know what its like to come off of heroin or the strong pain pills, this withdrawal is about ten times that. It is way longer and way more intense. Let me give you my example, I was on methadone while I was pregnant, about 6 months, and then I got off of it about 2 months after he was born, so a total of 8 months, approximately. I even detoxed in 30 days from 65 mgs. I did not feel like myself again for at least 6 months after, and at first I could not eat or sleep, I lay there staring at the ceiling, but I couldn't stay still because it felt like my nerves were being tickled at all times. THat was the torturous part about it, the nerves. I puked and had diarrhea for the first couple weeks, and about a month into it the worst of it lessened. However, the nerves part of it and depression, so many things held me down. It was really bad, and I hated every second of it. I am on methadone maintenance again, and I am so scared of the time I will get off it. It has been a blessing for me this time, though, because I haven't used in 2 years and I started working toward my degree a little over a year ago and I'm still going strong. I have a muich better relationship with my kids and my family now, and Im looking for a job now that I know I can hold one. Methadone Maintenance can be a blessing for the right people.

NEVER take those two together or you will withdrawl severely and possibly worse can happen. If you are wanting off methadone then I suggest suboxin but never combine those two together, EVER>

I'm not really sure what you mean here, but if you are asking if methadone will show up as methamphetamine then the answer is NO. Why would an opiate show up as amphetamine(speed)? Methadone is an opiate and will show up as an opiate on a UA. Some UA screenings dont even detect methadone or test for it, it all depends on the test itself.

Methadone is a synthetic opioid, and does not show up on a normal 5 panel drug test (THC/COC/OPI/MET/AMP). It does NOT test as a regular opiate. The tester will tell you what drugs are being tested for. Have a letter ready from your doctor/clinician just in case they do test for Methadone, so they know it has been prescribed by a medical professional. Remember, if you are on Methadone and a company decides to NOT hire you because of it, this is in direct violation to the Americans with Disabilities act (unless you have taken it illegally).

I am not familiar with arc manor, but methadone will show up in a narcotic urine analysis. Generally, simple drug tests will show a positive or negative result for general catagories of drugs, in your case, opiates. Other catagories include THC, amphetamines, psychoactives, etc. Methadone does not show up as an opiate, it has its own catagory, now whether or not they test for it, I dont know....?

i was on 20mls and just recently up'd to 30mls.

On 20mls i felt great wide awake and lots of energy. Today on 30mls, i am nodding off and have a bad headache. so today i would not drive my car.

Morphine doesn't actually get rid of pain; all natural and synthetic opiates only alter the brain's perception of pain so that it appears it's less or non-existent. But the pain still remains.

Over time, as your body becomes more tolerant to opiate therapy, it will become harder to maintain pain control with the same dosage. While it doesn't happen to many people, you can reach a point wher you're no longer getting any more pain relief, only increased side effects. It's not a fun situation to be in.

Nothing really. Actually it's pretty pointless. You couldn't lace enough marijuana with methadone to really feel the effects of methadone anyway. You may get a slight opiate buzz, but other than that, nothing much. I mean u would need about 20mg's of methadone to really feel anything and if you put 20mg's of methadone in a joint or blunt of marijuana, you would basically be smoking methadone laced with marijuana LOL, thats how much methadone there would be. (20 mg's of methadone is alot of powder) And if it is dipped in liquid methadone, than it would be the same thing, there just wouldn't be enough methadone absorption to make a significant difference.

Yes. If you are on methadone as a maintenance pain medication, there are other pain meds you can take for breakthrough pain, or to boost the effects of the methadone. One that is commonly prescribed to take with methadone is meperidine (generic Demerol) and phenergan.

The Demerol is a narcotic pain med, and the phenergan potentiates (boosts) the effectivenes of the Demerol, as well as preventing the nausea that some people experience when taking Demerol.

There are other pain meds that can be taken with methadone, but your doctor can best advise you on them, depending on your medical condition.
