Have these drugs both been prescribed by a doctor? If you have been on them for 3 1/2 yrs and prescribed by a doctor and you still are in pain and are taking them only as prescribed WHY would you go off them..If you are taking them illegally the withdrawal will be hard without the help of a doctor. This drug is normally tested through urine. I doubt his feces will be checked for drugs. This is not common practice.

One should never inject methadone pills because it is not meant to have a quick rush. It is supposed to take effect slowly over 48 hours.

Neither in and of itself is damaging to the liver. Opioids are some of the safest drugs available as far as organ health goes. However, anything taken in excess can be damaging.

Sometimes oxycodone is prescribed with Tylenol, and when this is the case it is the Tylenol that can damage the liver, if taken in excess.

no - methadone does not affect the same neuro transmitters as ritalin. However, I have found in my own personal use of 80 mg Methadone/day (Entire right side back pain) and 10mgx3/day of Ritalin, the use of Ritalin has significantly decreased the duration and total effectiveness of the Methadone - causing me to experience more peaks/valleys, minor withdrawl simptoms and has ultimately led to me making the choice between the Ritalin or an increase of my Methadone, which I am not willing to do. I suggest a trial basis (2 week) to see 1) what dose of Ritalin needed and 2) If another, perhaps non-stimulant, ADHD medication might be a better fit. Hope this helps.

No, Methadone will only show up if it is on the panel. Hydrocodone will show up as an opiate.

Suboxone will not but the methadone will show as an opiate. I would give the methadone a good four days to get out but keep taking your suboxone so you dont get sick. i have been on probation taking u.a.'s for about a year and have been on suboxone for the same amount of time. I take a sub the morning of my test and it shows clean everytime. just quit the methadone and you will be fine!

it all depends on the dosage of methadone and how often you take the dose. If you are in a treatment program you should not be using heroin. Talk to your counselor or somebody else you trust about your cravings. if you are not in a methadone maintenance program I suggest you get into one.

The test was probably the standard 5-drug NIDA test. This one only tests for opiates, and oxycodone is not an opiate. It is an opioid, a semi-synthetic analgesic for pain. The NIDA test will only detect heroin, morphine, codeine, and opium.

There is not a definite answer to this question. Each person is different and metabolizes medications differently. One person may be able to get by with 30-40mg of methadone and someone else may need as much as 320mgs some on doses as low as 5-10mgs. It just depends on what dose keeps you from craving and having withdrawal symptoms.

I can tell you that most methadone clinics will only start out at 30-35mgs and then according to their clinic policy, they may increase it every day or every few days by 5-10mgs increments until you are no longer having withdrawals symptoms and cravings.

Good luck whatever you do. I have been on both sides of the fence, addicted to opiates and taking the methadone and being dependent on methadone and IN MY OPINION, by far I would rather be dependent on methadone than addicted to other opiates. Each person is different in this situation as well so there will be some that don't agree with that statement.

I would suggest you check out UNBIASED, accurate medical data before making your decision about methadone or not. You also may want to consider Suboxone. More expensive but less strict guidelines to follow.

You can parachute any powder substance .. methadone doesnt have much of a time release mechanism anyways so regardless if you swallow it whole or parachute it you would almost certainly get the same effect ... but if youre going to chew the methadone just go ahead and parachute because when you chew a pill alot of it gets caught in your teeth parachuting will allow you to get all of the pill down your stomach intact !!
