Almost any time it makes sense to you, as the table designer. Generally, most people are used to seeing numbers right-aligned. Within the one document, you could use a section break and then the two sections can be formatted independently. So you could have different page layouts in one document.

Cut and Copy are two different functions of Word. Cut will take the Highlighted text from your word document and delete it. When you paste it will move the deleted text to where ever you paste. Copy just dupilcates the highlighted text where ever you paste.

When you press delete all of your work that you did in the table has now been deleted and youu cannot get that work back it is gone permenantly.

The phrase "single column" is somewhat ambiguous. You could mean a newspaper-style column, a table column, or something else. In any case, any time you format a page differently from the other pages in a document, you need to make that page a separate section using section breaks. Since you are talking about the first page, you would only need one break, at the end of the page. Beyond that, I would need to know exactly what you mean by column.

If you mean to keep track of where it has been edited, you right click the bar at the bottom of the window, and a menu should appear, then you left click "Track Changes", the button will then appear on the bar at the bottom, it will look something like "Track Changes: Off", left click that and it will track all changes to the document from the moment you press it, left click it again to turn it off. It will automatically print with the tracked changes on the paper, to turn this of you need to go to "File", then to "Print", then where it says "Print All Pages" you left click the arrow, a drop down menu will appear, then you left click "Print Markup" so that it is not ticked.

At least that is how it works in Word 2010.
