Where is planet kolob?

The Book of Abraham tells us that Kolob is nearest to the throne of God. Where exactly that is is anyone's guess.

Also Kolob in ancient Hebrew means "voice of father." Kol means voice, Ab means father (as in Abraham, pronounced "ob raham"). Kolob could be a reference to Christ.

What is the name of the settlements called for the non-Mormons?

Usually, nothing. For a brief period before Utah was a state, some saints referred to the settlements of non-Mormons as "Gentile". This practice lasted only a couple decades at most, as non-Mormons quickly began moving into predominantly Mormon settlements and inter-mixing with them.

Do mormans have arranged marriages?

No. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) is against arranged marriages and asks it's members not to participate in them, even in nations where they are a common part of the culture, such as India. Mormons believe that marriage is an eternal commitment - a personal decision that should not be taken lightly and that should not be done just to please parents or friends.

How much does it cost to park in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Conference Center underground parking structure on Sundays?

It is generally free on Sunday, unless it is General Conference Sunday (the first Sunday in October and April) - then it will be reserved only for those with tickets.

Sunday is not a very busy time near Temple Square though, there should be plenty of free street parking available. Try the street just north of (immediately behind) the Conference Center. Salt Lake City parking meters are free on Sunday as well.

Are there any Mormon rockstars?

What is the difference of between living and existing?

What happens to us in the celestial kingdom?

Not many details are known about specific kingdoms. We generally know that the Telestial Kingdom is so glorious that we can't comprehend it, that the Terrestrial Kingdom is much better, and that the Celestial Kingdom is much better still. So, it's an unfathomably amazing place to be. Inhabits of the Celestial Kingdom will also teach those in the Terrestrial Kingdom. Within the Celestial Kingdom, however, there are also three degrees of glory. Those who inherit the highest have been sealed to a spouse in the temple and will ultimately be exalted to godhood just as our God has been (though we will not replace him). Those who are not exalted will act as angels.

Is Dallin Larson a Mormon?

Yes - Dallin Larson is one of the founding members of the MonaVie Corporation, a nutritional beverage company distributing beverage products made from blended fruit juice concentrates with freeze-dried açaí powder and purée through a multi-level marketing business model.

What were two all purpose drinks for the Mormon pioneers?

Since water was scarce and often contaminated as they crossed the plains, Mormon pioneers often drank coffee and "Mormon tea" (made by boiling leaves of an Ephedra shrub in water). These drinks were sometimes allowed to cool before drinking as Joseph Smith had warned against the drinking of "hot drinks". Later Church leaders specifically said coffee and most teas were what was meant by "hot drinks", and most Mormons no longer drink either.

What is the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?

Answer

The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was an early breakaway movement from the original Mormon Church. In a dispute over the right of succession after the death of the founder, Joseph Smith, his wife and son, Joseph Smith III, left to form a new group under the leadership of Joseph Smith III. It changed its name to the "Community of Christ" in 2001.

The group has always rejected polygamy. Joseph Smith III was so opposed to polygamy that he would not even believe that his father had practised it.

The Church has a membership of around half a million persons, and is said to be currently experiencing financial difficulties.

What colony did the Mormons establish?

Mormons never had a colony. The religion wasn't founded until 1830 in Palmyra New York.

There were a few Latter-day Saint communities following that: the most well-known were in Kirtland Ohio and Nauvoo Illinois before they were finally driven out by persecutors, traveled west, and settled in Salt Lake City Utah in 1847.

Does Mormons believe in more than one wife in heaven?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that it is possible for a man to have more than one wife in heaven. This is the case if a man's wife dies and he remarries another who has not be married previously. He will be able to have both wives in heaven, so long as they were sealed in the Temple and kept their marriage covenants.

How do you find the poem that begins My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me?

Here it is (see links below). The various findings suggest that somebody isn't telling the truth about authorship. I also found several variants and some attributions to "anonymous" or "author unknown." One has improved the line "I do not choose the colors" to "I let him choose the colors," suggesting that this particular copyist was not pleased with the idea that God is in charge. By the way, to answer your precise question--"How do you find the poem"--here is how I found it. I copied the entire line you provided, "my life is but a weaving between my lord and me," and put it into the Google search box without quotation marks around it. I omitted the quotation marks because Google looks for an exact match. If even one word was wrong (and it was), it wouldn't be found. But the omission of quotes lets Google look for the highest concentration of those words in one place without every word's being exact. I got a hit right away. If that hadn't worked, I would have started searching on smaller units such as "life is but a weaving" or even just "life weaving" (still without quotes) to try to get closer. If you are certain of a phrase, putting it in quotes is the best way to go. If you have any search engine on your computer, you could have found it the same way.

What two men are famous for founding the Mormon religion?

You might be thinking of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery.

What made the Mormon religion change their mind about allowing black people to hold the priesthood?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) did not allow blacks of African decendency to hold the priesthood until they received revelation from God that they could. Church members of all races had been praying for this revelation for decades, and most were very upset at the situation. Finally, in June 1978, the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles announced that they had received revelation from God while meeting in the upper room of the Salt Lake Temple that blacks of African decendency could now be admitted into the priesthood.

Please note that blacks could always be members of the Church, they were just not permitted to hold priesthood positions in the Church. Also, dark-skinned people of other ancestry were admitted into the priesthood prior to the revelation.

Why are people against Mormons but for the Bible?

The "Book of Mormon" is not the Bible, and many Christians are opposed to the Book of Mormon being placed beside or ahead of the Bible. One of the "solas" of the Reformation is "Scripture Alone." The Reformation's teaching is that the scripture stands by itself as the only rule we have for faith and practice. The objection is the Book of Mormon being elevated to the status that belongs only to the Bible.

What is the estimated number of breakaway Mormons that continue the practice of plural marriage?

It is very difficult to even estimate the number of "Mormon fundamentalists" or those who continue the practice of plural marriage, because many of them are very secretive about their lifestyle.

Estimates of fundamentalists or plural marriage followers as a whole have been estimated anywhere between 20,000 and 60,000.

Here are the best estimates for various Fundamentalist groups that I could find:

FLDS (Warren Jeffs' followers): 6,000 to 10,000+
AUB ('Allred Group'): 10,000+
Bountiful Community (Winston Blackmore's followers): 700+ members
Latter-day Church of Christ ('Kingston group'): 2,000+ members
True and Living Church ('Harmston group'): 400+ members
Centennial Park: 1,500+ members
Naylor/Nielsen group: 250+ members
Confederate Nations of Israel: 400+ members
Righteous Branch: 100+ members
Church of the Firstborn of the Fullness of Times (Joel LeBaron): 1,000 members
Independent Fundamentalists: 7,000 to 15,000
