Why are there no representation of the Prophet Muhammad adorning mosques?

There are no representations of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) adorning mosques for the following reasons:

  1. It is not allowed in Islam to have images or drawings for prophets any where.
  2. Mosque adorning should be within low limits in order not to distract Muslim attention during praying inside the mosque.
  3. Islam main principle is to worship God (Allah in Arabic) the one and only one God with no partner, son, father, companion, or any resemblance what so ever. Hence, any representations of prophet Muhammad adorning mosques are avoided to avoid by time paying excessive respect to these representations that my lead by time to some forms of polytheism or hanotheism.
  4. The representation of the prophet may not be real representation of the prophet but just according the imagination or the view of the artist as it was no photography at that time.
  5. The Prophet forbade anyone to make any likeness of him because other Prophets have been worshiped in the past. If we had a picture of Prophet to look at it would lead to worship in few future generations.

In the case of Eid prayers, all women are enjoined to participate in the gathering, regardless of their condition. However, only those who are able to make formal prayer should join the Eid prayer.

In Muslim countries where the Eid prayer grounds are surrounded by a wall, menstruating women may come inside the enclosure, but sit or stand behind the rows of praying women.

Um Ateeyah said: "I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say that the unmarried virgins, mature women and menstruating women should witness the good and the religious gathering of Muslims, but the menstruating women should keep away from the prayer-ground."(Sahih Al-Bukhari) (source Islamway sisters Islamic rules on mensuration) For the complete text go to the related link below, Islamic rules on menstruation.
