What size is first gear on a mountain bike Is it a big gear or a little gear?
First gear on a bicycle with external/derailer gears is with the chain on the smallest chainwheel(by the pedals) and the biggest sprocket(by the rear wheel).
Answer These terms are often confused, probably because bicycles pre-date automobile transmissions. For anyone who has driven a car, "first gear" is normally associated with the gear that has the most acceleration. For most multi-geared bicycles, the combination of the smallest cog on the front chainring and largest cog on the rear cassette gives the greatest acceleration or power. Using an automotive analogy, this is your first gear.
"Big gear" and "little gear" is a holdover from the Penny Farthing "boneshaker" bicycle in which more speed was gained from each turn of the pedals by making the front wheel larger (ow!). It now refers to the measure of how much chain passes through the gears for each turn of the pedals. A big gear is one that is normally associated with a combination of gears using the large chain ring on the front and a small gear on the rear cassette. A little gear uses a small chain ring on the front and a large sprocket on the rear cassette.

How do you determine what gears are duplicate on a 27 speed mountain bike?
elevate the back wheel, then use tape to make a flag on the frame and the back wheel in a spot where one of the cranks will point to the tape. then go through all the gears making a note of how many revolutions it takes for the tape flag you have created on the back wheel to be back in sync with the crank. check your notes.
I'd do a net search for "Sheldon Brown online gear calculator".
Input the specifics of your bicycle into the boxes, then hit "calculate". Done!
How do you raise the handlebars on a Fugi Odessa mountain bike 2008?
Contact Fuji on the link below and ask them or how to get a user manual.
The Fuji Odessa has an unthreaded fork and an aheadset stem, means that you can't just raise the bars as easily as you could with the old quill-type stems.
To raise the bars on a bike with this type of fork you either have to get a stem with a sharper angle, AKA a "raiser stem". Then you replace the current stem with that one. Not exactly brain surgery, but you need to know how to reset the bearing preload, and you need to get a stem that matches your steerer tube and your handle bars.
You might also be able to keep your current stem, and instead get something called a "steerer tube extender". Assuming that the bike is a decent fit right now, doing this w/o replacing the stem might put the bars too far ahead.
You might also need to have the cables replaced, they might not be long enough once the bar has been reached.
Do note that this will only give you 2-3" or so.
If you want more, it is possible to get a "raiser" bar as well(a handle bar with some clever bends in it to get the grips higher. If you do that you'll definitely need new cables as well.
The thing you need to ask yourself is: why buy a MTB intended for sporty riding and then go to this trouble to create a cruiser-like riding position? Maybe you should reconsider you choice of bike and just get you one more suited for the riding position and style you seem to want.
I don't think a single person invented mountain biking. Bikes have been ridden off-road since their invention. I know that the modern sport started in the 1970's. Okay, well downhill biking was "hucking" by canadians,
Joe Breeze built the first modern mountain bike frames, but without the ideas and innovations of a whole bunch of other people, he'd have had nothing to hang on them, and no inspiration to build them in the first place.
How much is a porche mountain bike?
The Porsche RS is a high-spec, carbon-framed bike which in the words of the press release has been "inspired by the company's GT road-car department". I'm not sure if inspired is the right word. It's certainly not the first time a carmaker has gone from four wheels to two. Of course, some bike makers, Peugeot for instance, have gone the other way - from two to four wheels. The price of the Porche mountain bike is £4,999 and the weight of the bicycle is 9kg. It has two wheels, 20 gears, one seat, no doors and weighs just 20lb.
Can you put a mountain bike motor on your radius FB-1 road bicycle?
There's really no way of telling, as the phrase "mountain bike motor" doesn't tell enough about how it's supposed to mount on.
But generally speaking, I'd advice against it. MTBs tend to be stronger than road bikes, so better suited to deal with the extra forces of adding a motor.
There's also the question of wheel size. MTBs usually have 26" wheels, while this is a 28" wheel bike. Bigger wheels is like always running in a higher gear, which will put extra strain on the motor.
Does a 26 by 2.175 intertube fit a 26 by 2.2 tire on a mountain bike?
Tubes are quite forgiving, and most will cover a range of sizes. You don't want to go too small, and you you don't want to go too big. Any tube in the 1.8-2.2 range in 26", and with the right type of valve will do.
Is there such thing as a mountain bmx bike crossover?
There are MTBs with 20" and 24" wheels for smaller riders, which probably is the closest thing to what you're describing. These wouldn't be BMX bicycles though, since BMX bikes don't have gears and have a taller handlebar than a mountain bike.

Just as good as giant, trek , or Specialized without the crazy price tag of these name brands. They are all manufactured at the same factory in Taiwan or China. Rebadging is just too common in the bike business. Just like a shirt, cotton is cotton . Polo is similar to JCpenney's brand. Aluminum is aluminum. It is all about the marketing and logos.

Why is a mountain bike heavier than a road bike?
Because the MTB is meant to be able to take jumps and bumps, and has to be stronger because of that. The road bike is expected to travel on smooth roads, which means it can be weaker and lighter.
In addition the suspension fork and rear shocks (if fitted) are heavier due to the moving parts and need for a rigid design. These forks will usually have oil and sometimes springs fitted too. Lastly the rims need to be stronger and normally wider which involves more material in reinforcement.
Basically to make something tougher requires more material and more material means heavier.
How much are used bomber shocks for a mountain bike?
Marzocchi bomber forks are used as a dirt jump shock but i ride DH on my dirt jump bike with those shock and can manage.
Why is a mountain bike designed to be heavier than a road bike?
Because a MTB is expected to get ridden over bumpy ground and even jumped every now and then. It needs to be stronger to stand up to that.
Road bikes aren't expected to encounter that kind of riding, so they can be made more flimsy and lighter.

How to put mud guards on a mountain bike?
If you already have the fenders in place then most mudguards will require that you drill a little hole at the bottom of the fender for the screw that will hold the mudguard. Some mudguards instead wrap around the bottom set of support rods to the fenders
