Upon placing, the sulphur concrete is allowed to cool and as it cools the molten sulphur becomes a solid again binding the aggregates together imparting rigidity to the concrete mix.
Because sulphur concrete contains no alkaline materials, unlike portland cement mixtures, it is very much more resistant to acid attack and thus finds favour in industry where acid resistant concrete is desirable.
