How long after reinserting nuva ring will period stop?
I always get mine 48 hours after taking my ring out. I really love that because then I can leave it in between 3-4 weeks (which is allowed, and safe) depending on my scheduale. Other people are different, but 1 1/2 - 3 days is pretty standard. But once you've been using it for awhile (I've been on it for 4 years) it will become really regulated- usually down to the hour. Hope this helps and you love the nuvaring as much as I do!
Can you get pregnant if the NUVA ring is out for 1 day after using the ring for over six months?
After Nuva Ring has been out for a week, you're no longer protected against pregnancy. If you've had unprotected sex, consider using emergency contraception. Insert a new ring as soon as you remember, and use a backup birth control method for the first seven days of that cycle. Remove that ring three weeks after inserting, on the same day of the week you inserted. Insert the next ring one week later.
My dr. told me that it is safe to use in the pool. I'm a competitive diver so I spend a lot of time in the water, and in hot tubs between my dives. I was concerned not only about the pool water, but also the 100+ degree water in the tubs (you are supposed to use cool to lukewarm water to rinse your ring) and he said that neither would cause a problem
It's inside your body. Your body is pretty good at regulating its own temperature because we're mammals not frogs, so it's not like it goes up or down that much if you're in a hot tub or cold pool.
no, the chlorine in the pool does not effect nuvaring once you put it in yourself.
How long is NuvaRing effective?
The hormones last only as long as the rings in your body. The ring is supposed to be taken out every three weeks and you can go get a new one.
After Nuva Ring is out for seven days, you no longer have protection against pregnancy. If you had a regular 28 day cycle prior to using Nuva Ring, you can expect to ovulate in 2-4 weeks, and for your first post-ring period to come in 4-6 weeks.
You keep it in for three weeks, and remove it for one week. Pregnancy protection stops after it's been out for 7 days. Ovulation starts 2-4 weeks after that, and the next period arrives 4-6 weeks after.
After taking out the last Nuva Ring, you'll get your usual withdrawal bleed. After that, you can expect your next period in four to six weeks, if your periods were regular 28 day cycles prior to using Nuva Ring. If they were not regular before, they are likely to resume their previous irregular habit.
Depends a lot on a persons individual body and how it takes to the active medication in the bc also depends on how long you were on the birth control. Does stopping the birth control pill cause bleeding?
Yes irregular bleeding or spotting, especially if you stopped mid cycle is a common side effect of stopping BCP.
In my experience yes because your body is use to the pill and when it is taken away then your body thinks that it is that time again. Also wen you are supose to hae your pirod and you take the pills they are just a reminder pill so that you wont forget so it is not really medicated. Your body will think that you are not taking the medicine so it must be time to hav eyou cycle.
Does the NuvaRing need to be removed for a pap smear?
No, it does not need to be removed for a Pap smear. The annual gyn exam and testing can be done with the Nuva Ring in place.
Not that I know of. I have had a pap smear done with it in. It may just be the practitioner's preference. If so, then she/he can probably remove and place it back immediately after the exam. But I would leave it in and inform my practitioner.
Does clotrimazole affect NuvaRing?
No, unlike some other forms of birth control, effectiveness of Nuva Ring is not impacted by antibiotics.
Does NuvaRing cause migraines?
The Ring, or any other estrogen based form of birth control, can cause migraines. Sharp increases and decreases in estrogen are known to trigger migraines. It doesn't for all people. Some people find that birth control improves their migraines, some people finds it makes them worse. For some, it makes no difference at all. The Ring is contraindicated in those with migraine with aura, because migraine with aura also raises stroke risk.
How long can you leave the nuva ring out?
A woman normally leaves it out for seven days during the ring-free week.
Other than at that time, if the Nuva Ring has been out more than three hours, rinse it in cold or lukewarm (not hot) water, reinsert it, and use a backup birth control method, like condoms or abstinence from vaginal sex, for the next seven days.
It's best to leave the ring in during sex to reduce the risk of this kind of accident.
Yes. You can't rely on Nuva Ring for contraception when using Topamax. Start using a back up method of birth control until you've found a new method. Consider using emergency contraception if you've had sex in the last 120 hours.
Like any hormonal birth control method, Nuva Ring is likely to cause lighter flow and shorter periods than you had before you started on it. In the first three months, you may have irregular spotting or bleeding. It's less common on Nuva Ring than on the pill, but it can occur. After the three month "breaking in" period, you should see more regular periods and lighter flow.
Sometimes, on Nuva Ring, the flow gets so light that you don't notice anything at all. That is normal, and there's no need for concern if you used the ring correctly last month. You can take a pregnancy test if you're concerned, though. You should continue using the ring accoring to the schedule on the calendar.
When can you start the birth control pill after removing NuvaRing?
If you start the pill on the day you were supposed to put in the new ring, or even a few days earlier, you will have no break in protection and won't need to use a backup method of birth control.

Man evolved from prehistoric water creatures so man started in the primordial waters of earth.

You only have to wait a week when inserting the first ring the first time. Otherwise, as long as it hasn't been more than a week since you had a ring in, there's no need to abstain or use a back up method during the first week.
Ack! You're scaring me! You should be putting in a new nuva ring exactly four weeks (28 days) after you took out the old one! I'm worried that you're doing something like changing it on the 28th of each month. That approach will put you at increased risk for pregnancy in the long months (January, July, August, October, December). Please call your health care provider today for retraining on proper use of Nuva Ring, and on any steps you need to take to reduce your risk of pregnancy.
On the other hand, putting in a Nuva Ring early does not increase your risk of pregnancy, so, if this was the first time you did it based on day of the month and not number of weeks, you are not at increased risk.
What if you put the nuva ring in after the 3 hour limit?
If the Nuva Ring has been out more than three hours, rinse it in cold or lukewarm (not hot) water, reinsert it, and use a backup birth control method, like condoms or abstinence from vaginal sex, for the next seven days.
It's best to leave the ring in during sex to reduce the risk of this kind of accident.

What if you don't ever start your period after you take the nova ring out?
You wait the 7 days and put another nuvaring in. You'll only have a period if the hormone level is low enough, some people lose periods altogether on the nuvaring.
The question is a little confusing... You left it in for the 4 weeks so that you could skip 1 months withdrawal period. Then you took it out for 1 week to have the withdrawal period at the beginning of the next session. Did you reinsert a new ring after the 1st week of the new session? If you did not reinsert the ring after the period that you mentioned and you have had unprotected sex your period may be late because you are pregnant. But it is also possible that your body is still adjusting to the ring. Refer to this from the Nuvaring pamphlet/websight: You must check for pregnancy if: 1. you miss a period and NuvaRing
